Another question for you. What do you do to reward the dog for marking? From what I can see in these videos (which obviously is only what you choose to show us so maybe the dog does get rabbits in certain situations, and it's just not shown in these videos) the dog doesn't get to be rewarded by going after the rabbits. What is the dog's reward for locating the rabbits if it doesn't get to chase/kill anything?
@chickencurrywithchip8 жыл бұрын
When the dog goes on point she gets a “good girl” And when the hawk catches the quarry and after it is dispatched she get a lot of attention and praise. Never had the dog catch the rabbit/quarry kzbin.info/www/bejne/aF6QapyliNyKn80 1.24 minutes rabbit runs through dog’s legs Love your vids by the way

Thanks :-) Have you seen my videos of my pointer lurcher working with my mink? My lurcher is an English pointer mixed with hot blood greyhound, line bred coyote hunting greyhound mixes we Americans call "staghounds", and just a dash of saluki.

3 crows diving at a hawk in a tree. The hawk jumps out gliding 35 feet over my head. The crows after. The male GOSHAWK pirouetting hit the oncoming crow ....kill shot by the throat. GOSHAWK so close I could see his red eyes. Linebacker of the sky

The dog looks like it has been footed more than just a few times. Am I right, or am I reading it's body language wrong? What's the breeding on the dog by the way?
@chickencurrywithchip8 жыл бұрын
The breed of the dog is a Hungarian Wire-haired Vizsla. Vizslas generally are a pretty sensitive dog. She’s never been footed by the Gos,but has been flapped at, she just knows to keep out of the way
@JosephCartertheMinkMan8 жыл бұрын
Oh cool! I've seen several of the short haired vizslas, but I've never seen a wired haired one. I tried hunting rabbits with my uncle's short haired vizsla and the mink, but the vizsla was far too slow. I really really liked him otherwise, as he had a great nose and wonderful personality. So thanks to him, I started searching for a faster dog with pointer breeding, and ended up with the lurcher I have now.

Thanks. Its like training and hunting a Gos. Good luck with that it's a good bird to start with. It's Beethoven, Sinfonía Nº 6
@@mazharali9003 Rabbits are a destructive pest for gardeners. They cause a lot of damage. I wish one of these birds would take residence near my garden. I would not have to worry about garden damage and the hawk would have a good meal. Win-win! Bon apetit, Mr. Hawk!

@arm0ur_0993 жыл бұрын
Not only you are dumb enough to not be able to know the difference between a goshawk and a peregrine, two species that arent even in the same family, and are used very diferently in falconry; but you are also so arrogant that you think you can know better what species you are seing in a video from a distance than the owner of the bird, you not having the slightest knowledge about birds and him being a falconer. Peregrine falcons have long thin pointy wings while goshawks have short board round wings. Goshawks have a white mark on their head from the top of the eyes to the back of their head, which you can see on the video. Peregrines dont. Peregrines are tipically used in "altanería" (dont know the terminology in english), high altitude flights to hunt birds. Goshawks, on the other hand, are used in "bajo vuelo", low flights to hunt both mamals and birds, which again, is what you see in the video

not into watching you kill rabbits for sport,just another sadistic hunter
@wayneparker93314 жыл бұрын
If she eats the rabbits, as I'm sure she does, then it's not killing for sport. She's using the bird's natural pretty and hunting instinct to catch game for eating. Not everyone eats meat from animals raised on industrial farms for mass consumption by urbanites who wouldn't know how to find and catch their own food but who virtue signal at the drop of a hat.
