Wow, Angie! With all that you have going on right now in your life, I am blown away by the fact that you could put together a video tutorial! Now I have to find that sewing machine ( maybe in the unfinished part of the basement or maybe it's in the closet under the stairs?) to make a darling little rag quilt purse! I even purchased the fabric already. Your directions fantastic...even for me not having sewed since Home Ec in HS. Thanks for enabling..er EMPOWERING me! Jan

Fantastic tutorial. I have just made my first rag quilt bag using my Dad's jeans. He sadly passed away last Friday and now I will have something of his with me all the time, thank you so much for this.

Thanks for the clear instructions! I sound it easier to pin the handles and closing strap before sewing up the sides. Also, for the handles, after ironing the fabric in half, I put the batting up against the crease and folded it over the batting and ironed it down. Then I tucked in the other side and ironed it down, so the 2 creases match.

hey there, you could back stitch it if you're worried about it coming undone. But, I didn't back stitch because those squares are sewn together and they're getting stitched later...it's hard to explain but once you make one you'll see :)

I still back stitch. Since it is a bag it never hurts to reinforce it :) Also, you had cute scallop edges and you cut them in 2. Why not cut between the scallops?

Hi Angie from ChicnScratch lovely bag & the video tutorial was well done. Two Query I have though; how did you wash your rag quilt bag; because I was hoping you had shown us in video also how to wash the bag particularly for person's who are probably trying to make a rag quilt bag for the first time & are not sure how to wash it. My Second Query is; Do you have to wash the bag in the washing machine or can you just wash it by the sink & put it either in the dryer or whatever you all call it or can you also put it to air dry somehow; & would it have the same effect either way; just asking. Look forward to your response A.S.A.P! TAFS & have a blessed day ahead & beyond.

This is great but part 3 because you have the part 1 part 1 add on then part 2 part 1 add on get lost in till you really search for it. It isn't even easy to find in your play list.
