​@@ChicOnTheCheap - Sara, that washing machine cleaner- when I was working with appliances I used to have to _upsell_ that stuff all the time! It works really good; although I didn't sell that particular brand, but the concept of it is very much needed but yet underestimated. There's always going to be different brands, but you can make your own for really inexpensive. The ingredients that really clean are: 1 cup regular distilled vinegar, and a tiny bit of citric acid, like *no more* than 1/8 cup, (some people use baking soda instead but the citric acid actually works better) and a full washer of water with no laundry, let it run a complete cycle; and it can also be used for dishwashers as well, and cleaning septic systems and also households drains, like for the kitchen/bathroom sink drains. I learned this when I was at work and I wanted to buy some for myself. My co-worker told me to save my money and just make it myself. Sure enough, when I checked the ingredients, that's all the ingredients were, except in the chemical names to make it sound fancy and expensive. The stuff at the Dollar 🌴 is just dried up granules of the vinegar and citric acid. And we would sell those washing machine cleaners waayy overpriced and people would actually buy them. 🤦‍♀️😓 So please, save your money and just make the solution yourself. You get more bang for your buck because you can make as much as you want and like I said earlier, you can also use the same stuff for places in your house, and it even makes a great pre- treater stain removal on the actual laundry too.👍🏻 When I sold it, we were recommending people to use it, at least once a month. But if you never cleaned out your (dish)washers/sink drains, I'd say do it once a week for 4 weeks, then go to doing it once a month. The homemade cleaner solution never expires. After you put the cleaning solution in the machine and you let it run its cycle, run a complete cycle *again* with just plain water. You want to make sure the appliance/item has been completely rinsed out. You don't want to risk getting any grit or anything that's stuck in the pipes onto your dishes or laundry. That extra rinse with just water is key. Then after that, you could then use it as a normal.

Absolutely use the washing machine cleaner, I've been using these for many yrs. It does cut thru soap scum, & cleaning much better than regular laundry soap. They cost 9.00 a pack of 2 at Walmart. Yup buying them here now ty

The washing machine cleaner is supposed to remove the buildup that eventually leads to the odor, so you probably wouldn't notice it looking different than detergent, but it works differently.

I use powered Tide for a lot of cleaning. I keep a glass jug on my dryer, with detergent and a scoop. I toss a scoopful into my washer 1x/month, it works great. I also mix a cup of powdered Tide into a bucket of hot water, it's great for cleaning around the bottoms of your furniture, and of course, for routine household deep cleaning. I've used it for spot cleaning as well.

The washing machine cleaner tabs are definitely not a gimmick. They work great! They are really important to keep your washing machine working well. My washing machine has a light that comes on when it’s time to clean it. These are actually better for your washing machine than vinegar I absolutely love your videos. Keep up the good work.

If you want to clean your washing machine--one cup of vinegar and run it thru a hot water cycle. No order and gets the detergent build up out that causes the odor. I've never noticed any back ground noise in your videos!! You have always done a great job and your videos are always informative.
