CHICOS TACOS 🌮 in El Paso

Today we got to experience the best little coffee shop in El Paso, Tx. We visited Casa Cafetzin for the first time and were so impressed by everything from the decor to the tastiest cup of Mexican coffee. Walking in to this gem of a coffee shop felt like I was back in Mexico, visiting my grandmother's home. After we finished the delicious mocha latte, we headed to one of the best known restaurants in El Paso, Tx; the famous Chico's Tacos. Chico's is known as one of the Sun City's local institutions, and definitely considered an El Paso tradition by many, including Ren and I. Chico's Tacos has multiple locations in El Paso, and on this video, we chose the Alameda location. Come enjoy a little piece of El Paso with us!

I smiled the whole time you were showing the tacos, I was also salivating 🤤 Those air shots are amazing, I'm enjoying them! Downtown and Mesa brings back many memories for me. Is the burritoes flour or corn? I ask because I have celiac.😊

The rolled taquitos seem to use corn tortillas. The sauce, as far as I can taste, is tomato juice and maybe some kind of chiles. I’m not sure what the condiments are, so those may have gluten. But the main ingredients for the taquitos are naturally gluten-free. They also offer burritos, burgers and hot dogs, but those use buns and flour tortillas. Hope this helps!

Man, I miss Chico's so much. I moved away from El Chuco in the 90s and haven't visited since the early 2000s! That's always my 1st stop when I visit. Growing up, we would hit the Montana location, which is no longer there. THAT was the spot. I can tell you're a native cos you dipped the fries in the leftover salsa AND you eat the taquitos with the fork. Cheers!
