I worked on that steam locomotive, we changed the metal on the outside, I also saw a white buck in that park

I love that park..... spent some time there when i was growing up....... I was born and raised in Logan.

I used to love Chief Logan. Especially when they would do different Cowboys and Indians stories when I was in school. I was in a wheelchair but I had family members in class with me so they would help me. At that time (early 90’s) it wasn’t so handicapped accessible lol

As a teenager in the 90's we used to spend Sunday crusing back and forth through the park. Many fond memories

Oh, you are back to that beautiful park Leo. I am so glad that you are camping and fishing in Chief Logan State Park. It is truly a beautiful park. Just be sure to watch out for snakes as I have heard they are in abundance because of all the rain. I was taught that copperheads smell like melon//watermelon and rattlesnakes like wet dogs. Have a blast.

I wish my health would allow me to come back home (I was born and raised in Mingo County) and spend a week or so camping/fishing/hunting. Where I grew up there even thought I’m in a wheelchair I can go bout anywhere and do about anything I want. One of my cousins and I wrapped a rope around me/my chair and a tree once when I was a kid and dropped me off a small rock cliff (15-20ft) 😂 because it was between us and where we wanted to go

Back in early seventies when I was like 7 their wasn't a fence around the train and children could play on it. The restaurant at the entrance (parkway) was and still does have great food!!!

Back in the day. People used to be able set inside of the train in the park,until i guess vandalizing stopped that. My mom has a photo of my dad sitting in the train.
@suzybailey-koubti83426 ай бұрын
We would go once a month to play on the train when we were little. My brother and I absolutely loved it. Then we would go picnic with cousins and friends. We had such a wonderful life growing up in Logan County (Omar).

If nothing has changed with them. They’ve been use to people feeding them since I was a kid. People would drive up roll the window down and they would walk up and stick their head inside the car to get food. Which isn’t good because Deer that lose fear of humans are easy pray
