2nd and 9 on the last Bills drive shows why Allen can't be on the elite level. Allen went for the home run which was situationally stupid. He was going to give the ball back to the Chiefs with almost 2 minutes and 2 timeouts. It would've been over. The Bills had INTENTIONALLY been draining the clock on that drive and had a rhythm going. Seemed like they could actually score and leave little to no time left on the clock. Then Allen decided to play hero ball, ignore Stephon Diggs on an easy crosser which would've kept that drive on perfect pace, missed the throw anyway, and ended up losing. There's a short right here on YT where Brady is literally telling Allen that sometimes taking the easier and effective pass is the right way to play the position, but that Allen is stubborn. That's the difference between good and great. Allen's not good enough for the biggest moments. Even though he played great, even though his teammates also messed up, he had the chance to close the game himself and couldn't get it done.

@@larry2281 Well I 100% agree that the defense was barely holding on. They were super thin, and actually Gabe Davis being out hurt them as well. I Love watching Josh Allen play and was hoping they would have beat the Chiefs. He’s like a hybrid of Larry Czonka, Bobby Douglas and John Elway. In my opinion, that term elite just gets used too much and I don’t think at this point he is an elite QB. It is just my opinion though. I am a 9ers fan, but would have been totally cool with Detroit vs Buffalo. The only thing that would suck about that is someone would have to lose.

The Chiefs were leaving the short throws open all game and all of Buffalo’s deep pass attempts were dropped. Brady was praised for playing like that his entire career and Mahomes has been praised for adopting that style of play recently. Before this season started everyone criticized Allen for not taking the open checkdowns last year due to an injury that caused him physical pain to flick short passes. Not to mention the Chiefs have historically spent a much larger percentage of the salary cap into their offense than their defense to give Mahomes a great supporting cast (until this year). The Bills spend most of their money on the defense and they’re not even as good as the worst Chiefs playoff defense.
