Also this game was hard for me to watch, as it was last year. Context: my bio dad (who I still had a great relationship with) was a 9ers fan, but the dad who raised me was a Lions fan. This matchup has always been rough for me growing up. Sometimes it's easier to root for one team (wanting the better record for playoffs) sometimes there are serious implications (NFC Championship) either way it hurts

"I forgot he was on the damn team!" Yeah, that's EXACTLY why Detroit has all these specifically designed plays. They're meant for particular players. People call us a gadget team but I don't think that is fair to how absolutely INSANE the Ben Johnson playbook must be, nor does it take into account that because nothing is simple, nobody can mess up anything. When Bosa sacked Goff, the play itself didn't fall apart. It was because Decker got tripped going backwards into the pocket. Bosa sniffed out that spacing a few plays prior and took advantage of it because in a one-on-one with Decker, he's not winning without a full head of steam. Tiny mistakes like that become amplified when you don't just have trick plays but you have designated plays for EVERY SINGLE POSITION ON THE FIELD. So far this season we've seen specific "trick" plays drawn up the following players to be eligible receivers: Penei Sewell, Sam LaPorta, Dan Skipper, Taylor Decker, Brock Wright, Jared Goff, Tim Patrick, Jamo, Allen Robinson, and probably a half dozen other people that teams just may not scout. "Spreading the wealth" is actually a lot harder than it looks because it requires everybody to be able to step up and take on a starring role at any given time - even the guys off the street. Most teams can't manage that with their starters alone.

Jake Moody was 13/14 on FG before his high ankle sprain on his kicking foot in week 5 he’s not bad and probably a top 15 kicker rn as is depending on the severity of the sprain he’s probably still walking a little funny let alone being able to kick a ball
