I whole heartedly agree with you. The thing you have to hope is he's half the person he was when the situation blew up in his face. If you look at recent videos of him as a Brown's Running Back, he's nowhere near as muscular or anything else. His arms went from looking like a muscle-bound robot to almost fat or flabby looking. It's not like overnight he can gain the muscle back or lose 20 pounds of fat.
@nathanbruce74892 күн бұрын
I LOVED Kareem when they drafted him originally - so don't get me wrong; but I feel like the league as a whole has to do better about letting people that, previously (and of course, maybe currently) are abusers, towards people and more broadly, the law. Like yeah, in the right system, he might be a phenomenal RB2, or maybe even first string - but why give someone with a history like that a chance? I'm all for second chances, but just like Deshaun Watson - does he deserve a second chance at being a multimillionaire? I just don't think so. Investing in good people (and I don't mean subjectively) should be a priority.

@seventallguitarist2 күн бұрын
It's hard to say. Kareem made teams respect the run game, which opened up the pass game. But lets not forget that Damien Williams had 3 TD in the AFCCG vs New England & should have had a 4th, but Mahomes rushed the throw and badly over threw Williams who was WIDE open for the TD. Then I think Mahomes took a sack on the next play & it led to a missed FG or pushed them out of FG range. Either way? Williams was a monster that game. But the dynamic certainly changes if it's Hunt that they have to game plan for.

Both dudes are WAYYYY younger than Hunt, and almost certainly wayyy cheaper than Hunt. Idk. Hunt is old (in RB years), imagine we sign him for a few million and HE ALSO injures himself. Idk.. This one is a bit of a challenge for me. On the one hand, we remember Hunt to be this dynamic angry runner; but he could be taking a spot that may be better given to a developing talent. The fact that the Chiefs are even ENTERTAINING this option means the backs in the practice squad are still miles away from the second option. Still, putting Hunt into the mix and getting the full support of the coaching staff would help ease in Steele. I still think Steele is going to rise to the occasion with Hunt playing as a mentor on how to run angry through the tackles. Looking at the schedule, they could win the next two games and hit a brick wall in the Niners in week five. Hopefully, Steele gets the reps he needs to move into the slot one while Hunt picks up key 3rd downs. Now the Chiefs look very mortal and beatable to the Niners. I also watched the Falcons last night and they have a pretty solid team. They are just as flawed defensively as the Chiefs are, but I think weeks 3 to 5 is where the Chiefs 'get right' and can hone their skills against Atlanta and Los Angeles.

Was scoffed at by some people when I brought this up after the superbowl last year, but this was pretty much why I really wanted KC to take a shot at Henry, to help keep Pacheco healthy while still having a legit threat in the backfield. Bringing back Hunt doesn't really move me either way, been long enough since he got in trouble and hasn't seemingly gotten in more, but also he's no longer the same as he was when he was here. Don't think the answer is on the practice squad, and not sure of anyone else in free agency pool that would be any better than Hunt. so the only option for something better would be via trade, but they might have to use whatever they have for that for defensive help if they can't get the TE thing fixed.
