Colin Kapernick never did that. I remember when they would ask him about Alex Smith he would ignore the question and say that he's a competitor. Kaps failure to adjust and stick with his one reads is proof that he didn't learn from Alex and wanted to play his own style. With Mahomes , Mahomes actually was eager to soak in everything Smith was teaching him. You could clearly tell that Alex Smith also learned from Mahomes as his throwing motion looked much cripser in 2018 and similar to Mahomes, so they were both learning from each other. But Kap never looked sincere about his releationship with Alex Smith, Mahomes actually looks sincere.

Alex Smith is a class-act, and based on my interactions with him, he seemed like a genuinely good person. I worked at the (SLC) BlockBuster he frequented when he was in College. We were both 21-22 years old. He was kind, polite, and just seemed like a good person. I know it's stupid, but it meant a lot to me.
