Chiefs' Super Bowl 3-Peat Run, Mahomes' Legacy, Reid’s Genius, & Spags’ Defense vs. Bills!

But as for yesterday…we have to start with the Chiefs…who became the first team seeking a 3-peat to even make it back to the Super Bowl.
And after a year of: ”the Chiefs look vulnerable…the offense doesn’t look quite right…and blah blah blah”...they put together their most complete performance of the year last night.
Those 32 points were the most they’ve scored in a game since September…of **2023**!! That was about as sharp and locked in as I’ve seen Patrick Mahomes. He was cold-blooded…and the Bills had no answers for him - or for Andy Reid’s playcalling. I mean…those designed runs…Andy pulled out all of the stops and everything was working. And Xavier Worthy was a big difference-maker here too. 7 touches, a career-high 101 total yards, and a score. And who didn’t see this coming after the Bills made that draft night trade with Kansas City back in April? Woof.
And while the offense was unstoppable…we have to talk about Spags too. Dialing up the blitzes…shutting down the tush push…the Bills moved the ball, but it seemed like Spags had an answer in every big moment. I still don’t know how NO ONE has given him a head coaching job after seeing what he’s done in KC.
And this legacy Mahomes is building is now entering uncharted territory.
Beyond just the 3-peat element…he’s now the first QB to take his team to the Super Bowl 5 times in a 6-year span. Those 5 Super Bowl appearances tie John Elway for the 2nd most by a QB all-time. He’s got a 9-game playoff win streak going…and his 17 career wins in the postseason put him alone in 2nd behind Brady. And he hasn’t even hit his 30th birthday yet.
We’ll get into some more of the significance of what KC is doing throughout the week…but I want to touch on the Bills here.

Allen didn't recognize the blitz either, he has the power to change protection. Not all on the line. And to be fair it was a fantastic blitz, they didn't stand a chance. Spags held onto that all game and deployed the perfect play.

God willing. We're still yet to hear anything regarding Rashee Rice's suspension, and the presence of any of the veterans (Kelce, Hopkins, Brown, Smith-Schuster, Watson, Perine, and Hunt) on the 2025 roster remains unclear. But I hope you're right.
