The fix is in. Clearly the ref and the NFL have a fix in for the Chiefs. I don’t recall it being this bad when NE was making their run, even in the 90s I don’t recall such blatant bias. Not like the 49ers always got the calls back then. NFL has become a joke.

I noticed officiating making calls for the other side to win ever since the 49er- Redskin NFC title game, when the Redskins has to have a penalty called on the 49ers on forth down, three forth downs in a row. Each time it was a do or die situation for the Skins and each time the refs called a penalty against the 49ers on a forth down and only one call was close.

I believe I heard a stat that the Chiefs have never lost a game when that head ref was officiating. Apologies, this kinda turned into a novel. I am not full on "the NFL is rigged" as in they plan everything out as I believe that all the coaches and players are always playing their hearts out, but the League can tip things in favor of one team or the other by who they have officiate each game, and I FIRMLY believe that they DO play favorites in that way, selecting refs that tend to be more favorable to one team or another. This is how the NFL gets rigged, however everyone sensationalizes the point to make it seem like players or coaches are in on it when they aren't, its Goodell and the guys at the League offices that make those sorts of calls. The other thing is that in Primetime games the NFL does tend to try and do this a bit less as its more noticeable because its being broadcast nationwide, this is also why you notice it more during the Playoffs, because there are more eyes on those games. So its not really an overt thing like someone is specifically saying "make the Chiefs win" it's just someone in an office looking at the stats of which referee is biased in which way and having them be the officiators at X or Y game, because that's all they can do as every actual player and coach is always on that field giving it their all. Sometimes this works & other times it doesn't but it really is just a nudge, even with the worst officiating against them a better team still CAN overcome it, it's just harder. Additionally, as you guys sorta mentioned the Refs only need to help the team they are biased towards a little bit, even just 1 or 2 critical penalties can get the momentum back in their favor, even if they call plenty of other smaller penalties on them as a way to cover up that bias. As Lady Lombardi said I do think that some of the calls for the Chiefs, especially last year was because of the Taylor Swift effect as she provided a notable ratings boost, you can see that just by looking at which officials the Chiefs got all last season, in every playoff game they had favorable refs when you dig into their histories, they typically ease off in the Superbowl but even there it was on display last season. However because of how the Election went (not trying to get political) I think they might play down the Taylor Swift effect a bit as people are getting sick of it + she came out a bit against Trump & given how the popular vote went they may bend with the breeze and just let the games ride, still they have surprised be before so they may do the opposite too. That said it's been known for many years now that when you're playing at Arrowhead you don't just have to beat the Chiefs but the Refs too, and so teams know and plan around both, it may be annoying but its pretty well known. The last thing I wanna say is that on that 3rd down where one ref was marking it as a First Down and the other one wasn't I do think that they didn't quite get that First Down, so I do not think that THAT specific call wasn't bad, however that PI call was horrible & I did see that Mahomes flop too, which honestly is just a bad look, I'm not the most avid NFL fan but I can't remember much flopping in the past but if it continues being a thing then maybe it should become a penalty (although I would then worry how refs might abuse those calls in key moments too as sometimes people just trip).
