Just got this in today, emulating the ds beautiful on my tab s5e. Vertical would look great on it, but I prefer a like 90% top screen to 10% bottom or pushing in the left joystick just switches screens. I have a lot more messing about to do but already in love with the controller and might pick up the regular g8.

I recorded the input delay over bluetooth using the GameSir Android App with a Samsung Galaxy, on a 30 frame per second video it took 7 frames to respond. That is about 233ms of delay. Xbox Series X controller on this same setup is so much faster, barely noticed lag.

@engrrajonahmed doesn't seem to have any unless I'm using ps remote play with bad connection. And by that I don't mean controller. You may have issues connecting via Bluetooth for aethersx2, took me an hour to work out which method is best to play certain games (the godfather ps2). All games seem to have no latency, I'm on fold 5 with a spigen tough armor case, which is supposed to be a problem latency wise as it's a big fat case. I hope this helps others.

I have the G8 and there are two things a I wish they add/change: 1.- a ventilation option, games nowadays makes our phones go really toasty. 2.- A different d-pad, I love GameSir products in general, but their d-pads are horrible for a lot of games, specially fighting games.

G8 USB-C does not have DS4 (PS4) mode so you would be stuck with g-touch mapping for COD Mobile. PS Remote Play works when the controller is set to PS Mode but COD Mobile won’t recognize it as a PS4 controller like the newer G8+ will

There's not enough of a narrow handle at the bottom of each grip to hold on with your ring and pinky fingers. The right stick is too close to the right thumb. If the handles of the controller and placement of the right stick were similar to the 8bitdo Ultimate or Switch Pro controller, this would be a lot more comfortable. Unfortunately, it's a heavy, expensive discomfort and let-down. If I could return it for a refund, I would.

HI, how to know if the controller fully charged? Charging indicator stays solid green? When its solid green, from the apps 100% on the left, 2% on the right even solid green for an hour charge.

The controller must be fully closed to charge both sides. It can't be pulled out any, or only 1 side will charge. You probably know this already, but I figured I'd say it anyway.

@@LeoLiburon thank you so much. I have the defect unit. Purchased another one, the battery level both 100% once fully charged. However both controller have difference firmware. The newly purchased checked under apps had firmware version 2.8 and the defect unit had 2.9 version. Try to update the firmware on the new unit but the apps stated 2.8 was already the latest firmware version. Weird. how can 2.8 and 2.9 with difference firmware version but stated as latest version.

I totally agree, it is a device already with a very specific use. I bought it exclusively to use on my phone and play emulators. The "multi-platform controller" is not that interesting to me, i already have controller for PC or other things. Not to mention that the practicality of just plugging it in and playing is great. No latency at all aswell. And I saw in a post, with the adapter cable it works on the PC too.

Just connect in DS4 mode. Ps remote play thinks you are using a dual Shpock 4.

Just to be fair, re-recorded the test for Xbox Series X controller at 240 frames per second on the same Samsung Galaxy phone and GameSir Android app and the input lag on the same joystick is 47 frames×4.167 ms/frame≈195.849 ms. Where GameSir G8+ in most cases I got was 88 frames×4.167 ms/frame≈366.696ms. Massive difference.

@KB-fw6zo I heard that the switch mode has a much higher polling rate which might help. I love playing rhythm games, and it would suck if there was high latency. I want to pull the trigger but I don't trust bluetooth.

@@joby419you can connect it over usb-c too, but it’s mostly possible if your device have a usb-c port on the side. I managed to use a 90 degree usb-c cable to connect to an iPad mini but I’m a bit afraid to damage the usb-c socket on my iPad to be frank.
