This was me 16 years ago. My chihuahua, Scooter, was a few months older than me, and we grew up together. He died about two years ago and life hasn’t felt the same without him. But seeing this short reminded me of him, in a good way. Sometimes it feels like he’s still watching over me, barking at people that walk by my crib like he did when we first met. He defended me with all his little soul, and sometimes it still feels like he is.

Yes I have a yorkie but I raised him just like he was a large dog; (I have had gsd’s, mastiff, Rottweiler before him). Discipline, training, boundaries , TONS of socialization . He’s 13 and is the chillest dog ever. The one thing everyone tells me is I don’t like little dogs but I like your dog.

I believe the reason lots of small dogs have behavioural issues isn't necessarily that they're more spoiled than other dogs, but people respect their boundaries less because their size makes it super easy to pick them up, manhandle them, grab them, and even if they show clear signals of discomfort it's ignored, and if those signals escalate two growling or even biting, it's still ignored because the dog is so small that the person doesn't really give a shit and still continues to pick up and manhandle the dog constantly despite the dogs fear or discomfort. You can't really take a Rottweiler that's showing you please leave me alone, pick it up, shove it in a purse, carry it around, and constantly grab it. But you can with a chihuahua and many people do.

I had the sweetest Chihuahua. Everyone who met her wanted to take her home. She loved people. If someone came to the door if you picked her up and introduced her she wouldn’t bark. If they didn’t like dogs they liked her. She loved to swim. I miss her everyday. She was 10 when she suddenly fell over and brought her to the vet. They wanted to put her downright. Took her to a specialist they took some scans said the same. Brought her home and my regular vet came two days later to the house to put her down. I needed those two days to absorb what happened and to say goodbye. Chihuahuas really are good little dogs.

That is the most adorable thing I have seen ever!!! He rolled on his back twice to let them know he is totally trusting and submitting to what is happening while also trying to contain his excitement! He was so happy that was cute!!

Awww. I remember when we brought my daughter home to our three little Chihuahua's. They were so gentle with her, and we all used to cuddle together. That was in 2011, they're all in heaven now. I can't hardly find any photo's of my daughter growing up without one of them in the photo. It always chokes me up. We lost one in 2014 and the other two we lost in 2021. I had two of them for almost 16 years. Our lives will never be the same without them. Dogs are absolutely amazing.

This is the most well behaved chihuahua I have ever seen. I’ve seen some get extremely jealous with newborns or other animals. You guys must’ve given her a great deal of training and affection for her to show her belly and be passively curious about your newborn.
