In my primary school days and my highschool days, I witness my female classmates getting married to a 20 to 30 year old guy because they said it's "true love". I find it not just uncomfortable but also unsettling.

I have heard few conversations from elderly stating they married their kids off because “I know what’s best for my daughter and now she can be isteri & anak yg solehah”. This is absurd! Child marriage is a violation of basic human rights. Girls are not born to fulfill the lust of disgusting adults and subject themselves for abuse, violence and exploitation. It is sad to see young girls childhood & education been rope right in front of us and we as society not done enough to protect them. It has been a very slow progress - only half of Malaysian states agree for increase marriage age. Let us not stop and continuously push for better tomorrow

Malaysia will always be Malaysia... You can talk until the cow comes home.. But it will remain as Malaysia for a long time to come .. Religious based politics that will keep the country walking backwards for decades .... No politician or magician can change the country for good .. As long as religion plays a pivotal role in politics ... The entire nation will take a long time to move forward.
@soullesessess5 жыл бұрын
Dave Sundra You are optimistic. As far as I can tell, Malaysia is not moving forward at all at this moment. A big overhaul in the system has to be done to restart the country’s development engine. It’s like other countries have already been using Windows 10 but we are still using Windows 7 with minor updates and complaining about the problem that’s non-existence in Windows 10.

Child marriage wont help the child beside they already put the child in their worst nightmare , the child ,they have to be a servant , their childhood is destroyed and they can’t even help themselves. If they’re in an abusive relationship they can’t even filed a divorce because they not even 18 yet . The child can even help themselves and people will using them for full fill their own needs .

@sofiaglove6 жыл бұрын
Saaduddin Ansari, im sorry but that logic is kinda messed up. Your daughter or future daughter may hit puberty as young as 10 yr old. That doesnt mean its ok for her to marry.
@Tamashii20046 жыл бұрын
@@sofiaglove actually that logic make sense. Puberty basically means you have adult sexual organs. If you reach puberty in male, you can basically create sperm. If you reach puberty in girls, you can have periods and create normal ovums. But yes as a Muslim myself I think that this is just wrong. Like even this video said that a lot of Malaysian don't like this. I mean Malaysia is still developing country due to the cause of being a real country in 1957. So yes flaws are always expected. But I support lgbt. But not the t in lgbt. Because to me transgender people are ungrateful for who they are. I mean you were born a boy or a girl. You're perfect the way you are. But then changing genders. It's just gonna make it harder. Financially and physically. No offence to other transgender. But yeah I support lesbian gay bisexual. And I am bisexual myself. So umm toodles
@OdinX1236 жыл бұрын
@ , your logic is the opposite. Science does not support child marriage that is why is illegal in most of the developed country. Because we know when a child hit puberty, their mind are not ready, some of their body part are not ready. Just like in the video. child birth bellow age of 15 will have way higher risk of both the mother and the child to die, no matter if they hit puberty at 9 or 13. On the other hand, LGBT is very scientific possible and even mother nature show it. have you seen a photo where 2 male cat was caught having sexual intercourse ? or have you seen a male dog in the street humping another male dog? no matter what animal you are, is very nature for us and all kind of animal to have LGBT kind. There are even some science that explain some of the reason how LGBT is LGBT. there also research show that marrying young actually will not solve poverty but in most cases it harm the child more. Education is the key out of poverty, not marrying of at the young age. source: www.girlsnotbrides.org/themes/poverty/

What is R.age comments on having a male anchor to cover such news? Because by my observation this topic is highly commented by women, and men in Malaysia are not speaking as strongly as it should be (at least that's my observation). One way to empower women and children is that men has to advocate for them.
@NatMarProductions6 жыл бұрын
George Thien Well I'm sure you wouldn't assume that only the anchor alone worked on this right? There's probably a whole team comprising of men and women running the research and stuff.
@skadusshh88746 жыл бұрын
Nope, I do not discredit the team who work behind the scene which surely comprise of both men and women. The concern here is of PR, and the representative that is to be displayed to the public, that men should be more active in voicing out for children welfare. :)
@rageonlinetv6 жыл бұрын
George Thien That's a good point! We definitely need more male voices speaking out on such issues. To be honest, given that we're a pretty small team, we usually just pick whoever's available to host during the week - that usually means whoever isn't too busy writing, producing, shooting, editing or investigating something else. But that's a good suggestion, and we'll put more thought into it for our future episodes. Stay tuned!

Malaysia is a tropical country and all countries in South East Asia are tropical. It means countries in SEA will experience rainy days and sunny days as well. Malaysia is not like the countries in the middle east or Arab Peninsula. And this is not the times of Prophet Muhammad. Most female children from poor families are clueless, innocent or 'blank' about life or they don't know what they want to do in life.

@@killer21810 All Arabs ( *even before Muhammad* peace be upon him *was born* ) practiced child marriage. It's in the Arab culture and traditions hundreds of years ago. Those times there was NO FORMAL EDUCATION . No primary school, no high school and colleges and universities DO NOT exist. Their school was the environment they were born in, nature was their school. And their environment consists of dry desertland, oasis, palm trees, dry stones and bricks, SANDSTORMS, Extreme high temperature, hot and dry weather all year round. Rain is unheard of. In a few years there in the middle east, there's not even one drop of rain. *In HARSH full of Hardships and Unforgiving environment* , children grew up fast. Well done, your statical, and study information for Malaysia, regarding child marriages. NO Adult...No Matter What their Profession... NO matter what title they hold... NO Matter What economic Status,... NO Matter What their Culture... NO Matter what race, Creed,, or Color, NO ADULT wheather, they are a Adult Caretaker of children, teacher, parents, aunts, uncles, or anyone else, should have any sexual attraction to children, this is very disturbing to me, Very Strange, Odd, Demented, Sick, Weird, and Outrageous to me. *THERE IS NOTHING* about a child, male, or female is attractive sexually, Nothing attractive period. *Children are children as should be treated as such. *They are NOT mature *They have NO COMPREHENSION of Sex. *They have NO COMPREHENSION of Romance and intimacy *Sex and intimacy is in nature biologically is designed for Adults, NOT CHILDREN* I Cannot Comprehend any Adult thinking of a child a such a inappropriate manner. *This is a previous response I wrote to an article on Child Marriage; I don't understand why anyone would attempt to marry a child, this is unthinkable, children are not capable of Romantic Relationships, they cannot process adult sexual, adult relationships or lifestyles. *They are children and function as children, they are being placed, and forced in adult Relationship situations, and they cannot process nor understand it until they are Adults. *Nothing about a child is capable of handling a Romantic Relationships, Physical Relationships, Sexual Relationships or have the Mentality of handling Adult Relationships, and Lifestyles and financial matters etc. *A Child cannot understand the Deeper Matters of the Hearts, or Deep involved Love connections etc. *So, it baffles me to think any man would be interested in a relationship with a child. *Why not choose an Adult Woman who is matured in Mind, Body, and Spirit, intelligence...? *I could NEVER be attracted to a child. *(I have NEVER, NEVER BEEN attracted to a child nor teenager male or female) *Children need to be focused on getting their early childhood education, and growing up around other children and playing with other children. *I cannot fathom why a man would be interested in a Child as a Bride,( or any intimate sexual manner whatsoever) *A Child could NEVER appreciate Romance, Poems, Dinning, or a Dinner date etc. Why? because they are children *Children and Sex Don’t go together* Really! marry a child...this makes No sense to me! (I have NEVER, NEVER IN MY LIFE BEEN attracted to a child nor teenager male or female) This is beyond my comprehension....
