These school bus drivers driving like a crazy . They have no respect for anyone . You get hit by one of them, their insurance does not even bother to pick up their phone. You are at your own. They do not report to anyone or any authority. Especially here is New Jersey . I feel sorry for that mother sand son.

So, why does the first person interviewed only speak Spanish? Is Spanish now NY's official language? Obviously, there were other (presumably English-speaking) witnesses if there was a crossing guard on duty and an active school site in the vicinity. Something is wrong here with this story.

I tell my kids all the time that even if you have the light, assume you are invisible to drivers. I tell them to make sure you make eye contact with the driver even if you both have the right of way. Too many people assume that the driver sees them. I drive a truck, and there are blind spots by where the door and windshield line up. I said to myself, "Where the heck did they come from? A sad situation for that family.

Same here! And I am a school bus driver, and when I make a turn, I keep on looking back-and-forth, maybe someone will jump out because it constantly happens. Pedestrians don’t understand we have blind spots now of course they have the right of way, but accident happened and take your life seriously and as you said, make sure you see the driver cause if not, the driver don’t see you.
