I found this game when my wife left me. I played through it with my daughters on my lap and voice acted all the dialogue while they took turns controlling Igniculus. We learned to play auroras theme on the piano together over the following months. They had so much love for the story and the characters. It was the last time we shared something beautiful together. My younger daughter wanted to replay it every weekend for months but my older daughter pretty quickly chose loyalty to her mom and stepdad and stopped loving the things we shared. Ill always rememeber it. Definitely my favorite memory of my life so far.

I have long lasting memories with my older brothers watching them play through and see the beauty of the art, story, and musical orchestration. We would do this with most games our oldest brother would play, but this one felt the most special of all. This game was amazing. Stunning artwork, enjoyable dialogue, and a riveting storyline. The battle system took some getting used to, but once I figured it out, I couldn't stop playing. And the music, holy crap the music. This is a perfect example, with each piece being perfectly suited for it's place in the story. This particular piece was absolutely perfect. Normally the final battle theme for a game is fast paced and lets you know that it has all led up to this. But this one changes that. You are unwilling to fight, but are forced into it anyway. You have just returned from the DEAD, and even if you win, you have only sorrow to look forward to, as your home is being destroyed as you fight to save it. Perfect. Just Perfect.

So many amazing moments leading to this fight! There was likely nothing more glorious than to sit back and listen to this theme while locking Umbra in a paralyze spell while having Oengus constantly decking her in the face. XD Gen & Oengus ftw Ubisoft outdid themselves with this work of art.

Some people say the ending was rushed with this and honestly I have to disagree with that one. Having the boss come at you like that kept the tension going, and just said screw the crap I'm going after the heroine not making them go through a dungeon makes for a perfect conclusion instead of dragging it out

i totally agree, because surely, Umbra (that was her name right?) would know if aurora survived, and if she didnt she would not only be surprised, but she'd also go into a little bit of panic, considering that she went through that much effort to kill Aurora because she was the only one who could stop her, so Umbra would totally be like, "Oh shit, you survived? Fine ill just do it myself or else my plans are totally screwed." Thats the way I see it.

Umbra was basically like aurora has messed up my plans and I'm pissed I'm going after her right now. She was looking to get even right then and there. Instead of other RPG's that are like well I'm pissed about how you escaped that last dungeon or beat that boss I sent after you but I'm going to make you go through another dungeon to get to me. It wouldn't of worked. The ending definitely wasn't rushed with this game they hit it right on the money

It's been a LOOOONG time that Video games could and had incredible musics for them. In most way, it surpass the traditionnal media of the music. Most singers and bands just try to make a living and most of them resort to generic music that try to use well know musical tools to keep fans with them. Videos games musics are differents. They are not just a support, they tell a story by themselves and serve to hightlight the situations or give undertone. It was already present back in the days, Final Fantasy 7 soundtrack isn't iconic for nothing for example. ;)

Also the ending was abrupt, we barely experienced any type of "shock" in the fight between sisters, then soon after we are already fighting the final boss. Ubi didn't even use the famous cliche of the last tower, the final dark castle, the stairway of doom, etc... Every rpg uses this artifice, so the final dungeon was the "ice temple"? Even South Park used this cliche xD But, still, this game is easily the game of the year thus far.
