This is an amazing song!!! Each of us has a divine purpose, one that God has assigned to us. In this generation we are privileged to be a part of that great army to welcome the Savior when He returns. A banner was fashioned by our pioneer ancestors as a symbol of the restored Gospel. We are the ones privileged to hold that banner high as an ensign to the world of light and truth!!! Those pioneers are watching us. What a blessing to be born at this time!!! I hope each of us feels this way.

Then you have profoundly missed the point of this song. Yes God guides us, but He doesn't leave us alone unless we push Him away. That's the point of this song, that regardless of our trials, so long as we hold on to the Savior and our Heavenly Father then we won't be alone. He can offer us comfort, but He can't take our struggles for us. Those are our burden to not only bear, but to grow from, to be strengthened. Once you understand the nature of your burdens you can relinquish them.
