​@@johanliebert1012Technically, he is kinda a tool for plot explanation. E.g. when "mother" drugged him and told him the story of the inn and the box in the basement. I actually find it difficult to tell the story in another way. Ray must not hear it until it's too late, but WE must hear it in order to be afraid for her. The only way to accomplish that is put in a "supporting character". The change in Liam's character though was unnatural, IMHO. There is no drug that can make you simply obey but stay active and not sleep.

Highly recommend to watch. Such a spooky movie, well directed, well acted, great and original storyline, never a dull moment. Everything is great but it should have ended with her and the conversation with the policeman and the airlift maybe.. the box scene was totally unnecessary.... leaves more questions unanswered. That part should've been left out.

In '95 I gave birth as an unwed mother to our 1st child (we married in '97) in a catholic hospital. Worst experience. When I said it hurt I was told I should have thought of that before I got pregnant and I put myself in this position by not being married beforehand. I never understood what that meant. My 2nd pregnancy after marriage in 2000 hurt too, so idk what she was trying to say or do other than just be mean since I was not married yet. December 2023 will be our 26th anniversary!

Both were haunted, no joke. The first had the hardwood bannisters, whose end posts reminded me of one- eyed idols. In the late nineteenth century, the place was a funeral house. The second had actually been the site of a woman's suicide. She was unhappy in her marriage. My mother's melancholia (depression) & religious obsession grew worse. She abused me like Carrie's mother did in the Steven King film.

I actually watched it all the way through and yes it was creepy and spooky 😮 Had a good storyline and good actors. Now the ending left us all wondering okay that's it? I just recently watched the soap box killer, it was even wors than this, perhaps because it was reality. Things like these used to happened a lot. Now we in civilized countries have maternity leaves, baby boxes and government support, so there´s no need for it. It was well done story, decent acting and inspired by true events in human history. Some really scary stuff here: impressive! And the eerie music, so reminiscent of the tomb levels beneath the church in Diablo 1 (back from 1996: can't believe it's been 28 years!) - on the whole, the film's shocking - in a very good way.

I was suspicious first that Rae was Rose's daughter as she kept seeing all the past things that her mother experienced when she gave birth to her. The old inn- keeper was also very strange in the beginning and somehow i felt that she was also related to the killings. But what Rae's husband did to her was pretty shocking. The old man who tried to bury Rae alive when she was given birth by her mother, saved her in the beginning and the end. Very emotional story😢❤. Truly a big token of appreciation to all the mothers who had undergone this type of treatment....
