Even if Chucky didn’t beat her to death, Miss Kettlewell would still had died. It is pretty obvious she lost a lot of blood when Chucky stabbed her with the needle of the pump and loss of blood obviously stops the heart from supplying it around the body and to the brain. But it is heavily implied not only did Chucky hit her for revenge but he likely did so out of pleasure as well.
