Kids riding bikes in Knoxville have a safe and fun place to learn bike safety! Safety City is a child-sized version of the City of Knoxville! Just a short drive from Sevierville, Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, Knoxville is a great day trip to add to your Smoky Mountain vacation.
Your kids can ride their bike, scooter, or battery powered vehicles on the real paved streets! Kids can learn about road safety and the rules of the road. Safety City includes paved and painted roads, real road signs, working traffic lights, crosswalks and sidewalks... just like a real city! If your kid is learning how to ride a bike, this is a flat and fun place to learn.
In Safety City, you'll see some miniature replicas of Knoxville's most famous landmarks like Neyland Stadium, Knoxville College, Tennessee Theater, the duck pond, and the Sunsphere.
Safety City is FREE! It is a safe environment for the entire family. Plus, bring a picnic and make a day of it! There are plenty of picnic spots inside Safety City and outside at the super fun playground. They even have a covered pavilion. Be sure to plan extra time to enjoy the playground; its a good one!
Cora usually spends 3 hours at Safety City in Knoxville. There were so many kids riding bikes, scooters, and vehicles that day. It can get crowded during peak times. Bike safety is a must at all times. Please see bike safety rules.
