As a DBZ fan, I'm surprised that you haven't watched the movies or the Dragon Ball Super anime, yet. The first two arcs of the anime retells the events of this movie and its sequel, Resurrection F. The 3rd arc introduces the 6th Universe, which is the paired universe of the Z Warriors, Universe 7. The 4th arc let's us catch up with Future Trunks. And the last arc is the longest and one of the greatest tournament arcs of all time

The reason goku slimmed down when in ssg was because the transformation got rid of all unnecessary body mass, putting his body in the perfect condition to use the power-up because gods dont need overly defined muscles

After finishing the anime, the next movie is Dragon Ball Super: Broly, which has the best fights in the entire series, and fleshes out Broly into a good character. Lastly, the movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is a movie where Gohan and Piccolo are the two main characters

Honestly if u havnt seen it the tornament of power saga is 100% worth your time plus android 17 gets a major glow up and is on par with ss god blue

And this is also one of the few times where the heroes outright *_LOSE_* the fight in a very decisive manner. Even with Goku's new Super Saiyan God form, it's still not enough to defeat Beerus, and at the end of the day, the "bad guy" (Beerus) _wins_ only to then show mercy as his thanks for a genuinely fun fight. And to this day, Beerus is still beyond Goku & Vegeta's strength (though Whis does note that if the two teamed up against Beerus, they could potentially win against Beerus). This is one of the reasons why I like Beerus so much. He's neither Hero, nor Villain, he's a wholly Neutral party. Even when he's destroying planets, he's only doing so because that's literally his _job_ as a God of Destruction. And if Beerus happens to take a liking to you, he's willing to "bend the rules" a bit to ensure everyone gets a satisfactory outcome.

@@gamester512 indeed same here as well and honestly that’s also why I like beerus too because like you said he isn’t really a villain but more of a neutral party which is super interesting in my opinion.

At the point where Goku's super saiyan god disappears, thats because God ki is starting to be absorbed in his body and making it his own, and if Im not mistaking, beerus told goku that even if he is in his super saiyan form, that power which is god ki became his own which was the reason why he turned back to super saiyan god for the 2nd time to absord Beerus' attack, and the person who you talked about that was eating dessert in space, his name is Whis and he is the teacher of Beerus, like he said in the movie.

You should watch this entire movie. When Goku first challenges Beerus, he loses the fight after 2 hits: a forehead flick and a karate chop to the neck. Plus, Vegeta has an awesome (but short) fight and is responsible for much of the comedy relief

The reason why Goku lost his god form and went back to base, because I think if im correct or wrong, the super saiyan god like stamina drains more than super saiyan 1 to 3, and it has a shorter time to use than super saiyan 1 to 3, but super saiyan god super saiyan (aka blue) drains way more stamina and the power leaks more.

You should definitely watch super if you liked this, its genuinely so good, it just gets a lot of hate because people dont like god ki and what it did to their power scaling, but personally I love the story and new characters they introduced like beerus and whis, its just all around a fun continuation of dragonball

The DBS version of the fight is kinda wack ngl… this movie is way better than the anime one. Plus the DBS one has different settings and plot surrounding it.

Not really... the plot is the same exact thing. Beerus had a dream and is looking for the Super Saiyan God, he beats Goku up on King Kai's world and joins the other for Bulma's party. There is not enough of a difference to say the plot is different smh.
