I drove a BDR last weekend. I’m currently in the market for a Cobra. The BDR does have more interior room, which is a big plus for taller guys like me. 6’. The one I drove had a traditional dash/interior which I really like. The diamond sewn seats are just hideous. BDR’s exhaust also sticks out farther them all other Cobra brands and looks odd. First thing to take off are the heat shields. Also the body of a BRR is farther from the original style then all Cobra brands. There are a lot of BDRs around in the 60s and 70s. I’m also considering buying a Superformance instead.

@AZGT350 - Also recommend you look at ERA Replicas in New Britain, Connecticut. They were founded back in 1967 and offer some of the finest replicas of FIA 289 Cobra, 427 Cobra and GT40. Former Yankee slugger Reggie Jackson's ERA Cobra is up for sale at BAT (Bring a Trailor) Auctions. ERA makes high quality replicas that will be sure to please!

Interesting format review. When you gave it a 3.5 for comfort, was this within the Cobra spectrum, or compared to all other cars? The reason I ask is the Backdraft is considered the most comfortable of all Cobras, thanks to it's BMW suspension which includes IRS, it's wide body, and long wheelbase. I'd give it a 5 for a Cobra, but a 2 compared to other vehicles, as all Cobras are white-knuckled rides. The only cars I'd give a "1" comfort would be rat rods. I hope to see you review other Cobras! *Tip: PLEASE tell the valet the side-pipes are super-hot!*
@Earth.Motorcars3 жыл бұрын
Great question I’d say it’s certainly the most comfortable of the cobras for sure. That said the 3.5 is when compared to other weekend track day cars. We did just get a Factory Five with a 5.0 in I will be taking out after the Christmas break. Be sure to hit that subscribe and alert bell so you’re notified when it comes out!
@joshuaszeto3 жыл бұрын
i would venture to say ratrods are in the negative points range.

It's not that comfortable at all. Its just not. Three hours and it starts to get a bit stiff in the lower lumbar area unlike the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ (oddly enough) which drives really well at extended distances. I love both cars, but the Shelby is a lot more moody.

@@Earth.Motorcars Here's a different sales philosophy to consider. Just drive the car it will sell itself to those looking for what the Cobra has to offer. IF your going to talk, then talk about that individual car. Had you ever driven a real Cobra you would know Any of the kit cars are a huge upgrade in ride quality. You sound like a salesman trying to make a buck, not an enthusiast who appreciates where the Cobra came from. Food for thought.....

Nice car. My friend built one many years ago. Amazing head tuner. This one wouldn't pass safety test in the UK. Needs head restraints. In an accident the back of your head would smash into the metal roll over bar. Also never understood why no grill to protect radiator from stones.
@Earth.Motorcars3 жыл бұрын
I'd imagine this design can be chalked up to the builders at backdraft wanting to keep it as close to the original as possible.
@kb90723 жыл бұрын
@@Earth.Motorcars Yes, you are right but I personally don't understand why build a new car knowing what we do about safety. I'd have two roll over hoops both with head restraints. That aside stunning car. Abit generous with the comfort score but good review.
@Earth.Motorcars3 жыл бұрын
@@kb9072 the comfort score is for the car category it’s in. Next to an S Class I’d give it a 1/5 haha. Here in the US we classify it as a 1965 so regulations aren’t very much. Backdraft does offer a double roll bar as an option though.
