Childhood Memories - Luing

Join Dave and Audrey on the West Coast of Scotland. We went over the Bridge over the Atlantic. Visited a very special small island called Luing. When i was small we had one of the old slate miners cottages in Cullipool.
This little trip was a real walk down memory lane.

Thanks for posting this video. Brought back many happy memories of my own time on Luing many years ago. My wife’s family owned the plot of land at the head of the ferry slipway on Luing and built the brown painted Norwegian Pine chalet at the base of the hill behind it that you see directly in front of you as you look up the slipway on stepping on Luing. Your walk along the coast from the ferry to Cullipool was one we made many a time to reach the post office/general store in Cullipool for some item we’d forgotten to get when gone in to Oban for supplies. Knew exactly where you were when filming your walk to and from Cullipool - recognised every scene! Brought back so many happy memories. Thanks again for posting!

Was at Oban last week for a few days with the Silver Nomads and visited Easdale island for the first time despite the horrendous weather, found Easdale very interesting. Drove down to Cuan and looked over to Luing and we all agreed to visit the island for a few days in the spring, your video and another one helped us to see how to explore Luing, Thank you from the Silver Nomads from Fife

Such a fantastic area...as a youngster, used to skip stones anytime I was by a body of water and found any kind of flat stone...any kid could skip stones to their hearts delight there for sure! Enjoy hitting up some childhood memories, but sometimes it can be sad to see some pretty dramatic changes. Thanks for the great explore! Bruce and Otis
