A 1972 Triumph 500cc trophy model that I bought from another GI that was heading back to the states from Germany, I rode it it the rain and the sleet, the sleet hurt my head when it splashed on it

My first was a 65cc Honda, that was the only thing I could get a license for. It ran forever. When I got a bigger bike I sold the Honda to a senior citizen and he wore it plumb out.

My first bike was a Yamaha 60. That was the bike I learned how to ride on , changing gears and all the things that go with it. I remember the first time I got the front wheel off the ground probably not more that a 3-4 inches, man I was hooked. I rode bikes with my dad from the Yamaha 60 all the way up to Harleys. He is gone now and I miss him everyday. Motorcycling is a passion that has never left me. Now my son and I ride our Harleys together. Thanks for stirring the memories. 59 years old and still love riding as ever 👊🏻

Thanks for watching and your comments. I miss riding with my son. He lives for the most part overseas. Riding together builds a bond for sure.

My first dirt bike was in 1975 and my first street bike was a Sears 109 that I worked 2 summers on my uncles Christmas tree farm to pay him for it. And yes he ordered it out of a Sears & Roebuck catalog and picked it up when it came in. 😃👍👍

I'm 75, been riding oh about 55+ yrs. First time ever riding cousin gave me instructions while sitting on his 1965 Honda 150 Dream. Popped the clutch and missed the 3rd turn into a plowed orchard but kept it up right back on the road. Never looked back! I've owned Yamahas, Hondas, Kawasakis, Hodakas, Truimps, Nortons, Bultacos, ending up with Harleys, now on a Triglide. Love long distance rides which I do at least 3 times per year.

My 1st bike WAS an '81 CB750 4 cyl. which I bought in '88 ( I was 34 at the time) rode for 6 months until tags became due and sold it because 1: I didn't want to deal with the DMV and 2:) My FIL did not want his Daughters Husband to have a motorcycle. So with that my cycling days were done before 1988 was. I never got an endorsement, I just rode "undocumented" during that time. FF 31 years later I bought me a 2020 TriGlide on Halloween of 2019 and I was quite jazzed when I found out Nevada does not require a motorcycle endorsement.

Fist bike experience was riding on my cousins KZ1000 screaming up my street with a Kerker header on it, and I was in love. My first bike was a Honda CB360. I learned how to ride on my brothers 1970 something Gold Wing in a field. He told me if you dump it I'll fix it. That was the beginning of my love affair with bikes. Got my first Harley at the age of 22. Was a 1990 Sporster 883 Hugger in High Fi blue. Took that bike with my brother who bought a Heritage Soft Tail that was white and turquois down to Bike Week in 1991. I have owned many bikes since. More Harley's than metric bikes. Now I'm on a Tri Glide since age is catching up to me and years of hard labor and not sitting behind a desk. But I still have two wheels when the urge hits me for two wheels I just jump on my 2018 114 CI 115th Anniversary Break Out in the denim blue. I have number 626 of 1500.

I really didn't start riding street bikes until I retired the first time at 50. I got myself a 2006 Honda VTX 1300 for a retirement present. Life changing in that I didn't know what I was missing before. Now 65 and looking at retiring a second time and now ride a 2015 HD Ultra Limited.

First bike was a 1966 100 C C Ducati 2 stroke single cylinder You had to mix the gas and oil It would get 60 miles to the gallon. It was an air cool engine but it had a shroud Around the top part of the engine with a fan on the flywheel, That Blew air between the engine and that shroud to keep it cool. It was a street bike but I rode it off-road Also. In September of 1970 I went in the Army. I told dad to sell the bike. I'd never seen it again.😢 Road off-road with my sons when they were growing up. Bought my next street bike in 2004 I am still riding at 73.

1979 Honda CX 500 Custom. Bought for $500 when I was 16 and man was this bike unsafe. My girlfriend at the times brother got it from a friend who bought it from someone who dropped it on the highway so it had crooked handlebars, bald tires and sketchy brakes but I loved that bike and rode it to highschool rain or shine. Other guys may have had much nicer cars but I had a bike... got the itch when I was around 5 or 6 as a guy that lived down the street rode a blue HD from the 1970's and it was loud. My parents told me when I heard that bike from miles away I would run outside to wave at him as he rode past. He always waved back. My mother said to stay away from him as he was likely a HA...I had no idea what that was and he wasn't but that just made him more cool in my little kid eyes so obviously I started trying to figure out to to be an HA. ( I'm not btw ) I'm still trying to track him down all these years later so I can see the bike that started it all and buy it from him if possible as he's got to be in his 80's by now. Of all the bikes I now own my cobalt blue HD Deuce with tons of chrome is a tribute to that first memory. I make sure I wave at every little kid who waves at me to this day when I ride by.

My first real bike was a Honda CB 100 rode it to death with my buddy’s, my first real ride / experience was going to the river it was about 100 miles to the Illinois river from where I lived we would go to Grafton eat at a bar on the river run down to Alton turn around go back up to Grafton it is about 12 miles of cool road river on one side the other rock cliffs on the right side. I had a Honda CB 550 at this point I found out that the higher octane gas ran better and better fuel mileage. Man life was so simple back then! Keep the rubber on the down side!

.Technically my first bike was a Honda 70 trail Bike...Id ride all around our yard and jump stuff including Camp Fires. I jumped it so much it broke the seat frame on the back half of the seat and it would tilt back a little. My little brother fell off becuase of that. Add to that we would pull people on skateboards with ropes, and I even pulled my little brother around on a "disk" for sledding. He went to wide as i went around a turn and ended up in the road and skidded across a broken glass bottle and had to get glass removed from his butt at the hospital....LOL....but I digress....As an adult here is the story: So i was in the air force stationed at Belle Fourche SD. We didn't have a bike, but attended the rally downtown every year between 1989 and 1995 (including the huge 50th anniversary). The last year we were there my buddy won a brand new Wide Glide. Unfortunately we moved (Permanent Change of Station aka PCS'ed) and we both ended up in Idaho. He told me I should get my license and get a bike.....SO....I did in 1997 and have been riding ever since I bought a 1982 yamaha Maxim 550 and rode it in Idaho and Arkansas. Then I moved up to the Honda VTX1800C in 02 when they first came out. Love that bike and still have it. BUT.....I STILL haven't been able to get back to Sturgis on a bike. Its SO on my bucket list....ugggg. Down here in Texas now and that's why im looking at a 2019 Road Glide for touring. 1000 miles to Sturgis from right here.
