No, it takes place during this current era of time. The video game store they went to sells new and used video games, consoles, controllers, etc. of all consoles that are/were made.

So my headcanon is this: Due to the prevalence of sixth-gen consoles (which would encompass the years 1999-2006, with the Dreamcast, PS2, GameCube and Xbox), this series takes place in a alternate version of 2024 where everything is the same, but console development stagnated due to a worse recession that occurred ITTL around 2007-2009, leading to Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo releasing incremental updates to said consoles. (similar to what's happening today with stuff like the PS5 Slim (or the PS5 Pro), the XBSX Project Brooklin and the Nintendo Switch II.) And with console development stagnating ITTL, Microsoft along with Valve would definitely scoop up more resources towards making more powerful hardware, in turn making Steam the most dominant platform ITTL. (not too different from OTL.)

4:01 that’s hypocrisy, again comics of superheroes doesn’t need to become movies especially if one of the things they’re like reading comics. He has been told he’s too old for Teletubbies, if anyone’s too old for that then marvel and dc movies might as well not become movies that teens and adults can watch as well as there’s a little bit of difference of Teletubbies than Dora or Barney for an adult or a teenager watching that so that’s to the extent she went past that she is micromanaging him. Comics in the 40’s or 30’s is originally was made for children even that means kids for 5 or 6 year children if they look forward to finding one.

Watching movies of superheroes like marvel is like reading comic books so Catherine saying they’re he’s too old and yet people in my age group or older even people who are past 60’s year old watch Guardians of the Galaxy. So she’s being a hypocrite already if she even said Dave is too old for Sesame Street or Teletubbies as most of children’s shows I watch even had teen and adult audience in the content. Dave maybe likes Superman as there’s a video he wanted to see Captain America. So what she’s saying is garbage, especially shows like Teletubbies have a big difference from Barney, Caillou, Dora, and Cocomelon as watching it as an adolescent or adult because of the humor in the show besides what’s cute about the cartoon and other things about it. I even read an article that someone posted in 2021 about Animanaics having audience for teens and adults and Teletubbies has audience like that too but it’s a little different because Teletubbies a baby show.
