Glover's music is hard for me to listen to. Sometimes it's catchy and fun, sometimes it's nothing but aesthetics, sometimes it's really deep and meaningful, and sometimes he just won't shut up about his asian fetish. His most consistent trait is that he likes telling stories so this should be interesting

yeah, personally I see sober as the in-between of The Worst Guys and Telegrave Ave, cause Childish Gambino appears sick and lonely (the alien working through his system) when he comes across the same girl as in Telegraph Ave- dancing for her in a similar way as in the end of Sweatpants.

Hey man, love the vid after a year later. I just wanted to comment that I believe the alien theory only applies to the music videos, as the album itself tells the story of the screenplay. I’m pretty sure Flight of the Navigator is supposed to be a reference to the movie, in which the kid, after falling into an 8 year coma, decides to live the life he never got to after waking up. It connects to the screenplay because it plays after The Boy almost kills himself and he wakes up in the hospital. He decides to actually live his life, but gets quickly side tracted when he learns that his father had died. At least that’s what I think the song is supposed to mean. I’m not sure about the library though, but I would guess that it’s the sound of old technology and such as you can hear sounds like tvs turning on throughout the album. Edit: apparently the sounds are “pages rifling” according to rap genius, pretty fitting because it’s called the library

what is its an analogy like because the internet people will try to be like there fav celebs because the internet or becuase the internet you dont age mentally or how in sweatpants hes just walking endlessly seeing people being like him or wanting to be him because who he is its already estalbished before the album starts that the boy is rich and famous cause hes rick ross son etc what if it was a play on being ailenated becauae of who you are ive said this before when you got money eveyone heart is gold. its fun but then it gets dry like think about it knowing everyone around you is there cause you payed them or no one really knowing you all too well or taking there time to know you so you often spend money buying people around you but they all leave when you lose it all so this was a story of a kid who got infected with alien called fame and so everyone tries to be like him etc etc people around him for money etc etc wouldnt you feel ailenated too not to mention that he dies in the end or some what if i remember he got shot tony montana style in the pool but the music video start off with him just floating looking like an apparent suicide but we find out that he got shot in the back how many artist died mysteriously or to "suicide" because the internet people will try to be like you even tho they never meet you or think of the ways social media is proven to destroy shit overtime. (this is a joke this part is a joke) BTI TELLS THE STORY OF KANYE WEST FUCKING FALL INTO MADNESS but now lets be serious again and say this look at how social media destroyed his life style HE WENT FROM ONE OF THE GREATEST ARTIST TO BEEFING WITH PEPPA PIG fucking presidents HAVE TWITTER ACCOUNTS idk i shouldnt have smoked a blunt before watching this video
