This song is mainly about a guy going into fame and not knowing how to really handle it. Most famous rappers today talk about girls, money, and fame in their songs. And he (In the song, not in real life.) is slowly turning into one of those rappers. That’s why the song starts out so abruptly with small chick with a fat butt because that’s all the rappers talk about nowadays. This shows that he is slowly turning into one of them. He does not want to be one of those people which is why he says things like I want the lights turned on because someone to guide him so he does not fall into that idealism of girls and money, he wants to stay pure. He then goes to talk about how he went out with his “ friends” or “crew” and how they are a influence on him. So he then asks them to guide him and they influence him to drink and get high. That’s why when he goes with the verse “I want the lights turned on show me what you’re doing, show me how you do it” he instantly follows up with we drunk or I gotta get high. Those people that he hangs with now that is famous now influence him to do drugs and drink and turn into just another rapper that talks about girls and money. It’s ironic because that’s what he was trying to avoid the whole time.
