i love how this episode presents catra’s mindset and how she thinks she’s ‘won’ against shadow weaver but still visits her to gloat. also the fusion name thing for all the princess dynamics is a really cute idea.

You're right that Adora is all about being the best; it's how she was raised and where all her self value lies. When she yells at the sword, "Why can't you be what I want," it really feels like she's yelling at herself.

Y'all might've been made aware, but season 2 & 3 are basically one season that Netflix split in two. As far as I know the writers planned 4 seasons/arcs, 13 episodes each, but Netflix split the second arc into two for marketing/viewership. Love hearing the love for Bow, he's one of my favs 😊

You can think of Season 2 as just the half, and Season 3 to be the next half.

Yeah s2 and s3 are both half-lengths, and you can really see how the start of s3 was VERY much supposed to come in the same release bracket as s2 but for whatever reason (I don't know if we ever got a clear answer on why) what was originally supposed to be one season got split into two

On Adora vs She-Ra aging: I've always wanted to write something with a middle-aged magical girl who's full of resentment about the whole thing, and part of that resentment is that her transformed state hasn't aged a day. (Also it's just kinda ruined her life--can't have a relationship or do more than menial jobs when you're having to go outand fight the forces of darkness every night.)
