Norma here. As a kid growing up in the Bronx, NY, Italian ices in the paper cups were the absolute best. All kinds of flavors - lemon, cherry , chocolate and a special flavor called Lily. Not sure what the ingredients were for the Lilly ices but I know it had tiny nut slivers and vanilla. This looks so easy to do.

🍋🧊 I made a similar ice. It was called lemon granita. I used it as a palette cleanser between courses of a very rich meal. You looked so satisfied when you were tasting it. The heat over the whole country has been crazy! I live in Northern California where we have dry heat but I know that Texas has been having extreme humid heat which makes the air feel thick to breathe. 🙌

I grew up in the Italian Taylor St. neighborhood in Chicago, and we had Italian Lemonade stands. All kinds of flavors and fresh with nice pieces of fruit in there. Outside of lemon, watermelon was my favorite! And the stands are still operating there! 😁

We used to make what I called “the recipe”. Frozen condensed lemonade, pink lemonade, whisky and or vodka and or rum. Same freezing process that produced a slush. Great on those hot summer evenings. The possibilities are endless. We have snowballs here in the Baltimore Md area.

That is a refreshing idea. I'm trying it. I live in Sierra Vista, AZ. We are always 15-20 degrees cooler than Phoenix. Not as cool as Flagstaff. We have also been going through 100+ days since June. Monsoons usually start in mid June. We've had 2. I'm over it 😢

That looks amazing I would put blueberries in as you serve it they complement lemon really nicely my auntie used to blend frozen peaches and give us a smoothie it didn't have a name back then but froze them and other fruit like berries and would blend them up when we were hot.😊🧡💜🧡

Yesterday it was 108°F here in south La. & someone set the field next to my house on fire where the firetrucks had to be called, so that was added heat. I was wondering why my AC was running so much & that was why. I have never paid this much money for electricity, I sure wish I could go solar. 😢🥵 Poor Luna, she said she was hot too 😢. It's 120° here in AZ. But I'll take it with 12% humidity. Stephanie, I LOVE your channel. Do you have a lemon tree? Mine produces about 600 lemons ea year. @ $1.25 ea, it's paid for itself. We put the juice of one in our V8 every morning. Yum!

Hi Stephanie I hat a great cool down when the weather is so hot. I don’t know how you cope where you are in the heat your getting must be near on impossible to get much done especially outside. It’s going to be 101 in St Louis for the next few days Heat index 108. I’m staying inside unless I absolutely have to go out. It’s only supposed to last a few days then we go back to the 90s. I don’t know how you can stand it for so long. I guess you get used to it. It’s not fun though. Hope we all get cooled off soon.
