It'd be interesting if someone did a thesis on the interconnection of the Dunedin Sound and Krautrock. There seems to be a lot of similarities, both sonically, and thematically, in the construction of the songs...

Cool connection. And I definitely get an art-punk vibe from The Clean. Kinda like a kiwi Wire.

@@bargainbassist Definitely channeling some Dinger/Rother here!! Really get the Neu! Hallogallo vibe from this track. Love it. The live version from the "In-A-Live" EP is my favorite.

I loved Chicks, but this gig was a disappointment. I was over by the right side of the PA - and it sounded like crap. Perhaps Peter's amp wasn't miked up, but his endless dicking around with the sound suggests to me that the PA wasn't the problem. By contrast when I saw The Clean play at Sammys (a horrible venue) back in the '90's, 'Point That Thing' was an all-consuming monster that obliterated everything else.

@@michaelstevenson470 If you read Shayne Carters autobiography you get the impression Peter would be fiddling with the amp regardless

@@leercup is Amp a metaphor? Think he may have amped himself for the concert

Great great song. With atrocious stage presence. If you’re not into it hang it up. Playing with the amplifier, back to the audience, drum through the motions. I’ll go back to audio mode.

That's the beauty of them though. They are all fully getting into the song.

Kent Frederickson : Long Live the Clean. And RIP PG.
@_benjimouse_2 жыл бұрын
lol. PG is the unhinged spirit of this song, and him playing with his amp all the way thru is perfect imo.
