@@user-bl6tp3wy6h On of my favorites is simply known as the Corvette Song. The no show Jones thing was started in the early 80s when he was still drinking. I was amazed at how his popularity was still growing despite his being called No Show Jones. He was still struggling with his drinking problem at the time and I used to think, WTF here’s a man that has been at the top and was destroying his career. I was happy when he got his own demons in control. I’m not saying that he was a saint but who am I to judge? I know this much he has to be in Heaven now singing the songs he loved so much.

I remember when I was around 6-7 years old and I was at my Aunt’s house and she would get to playing her favorite 38 LP records in her stereo and the song that was on was Walk Through This World With Me. I remember that I got goosebumps when he was singing. I remember asking her about who was singing. She just said it was George Jones who was known as the Possum. So watching this takes me back to the days when I had all of my people around me.

Most artist are only good in the studio with s plethora of equip making them sound good. That was not the case for George Jones, he could sit on your front porch with just his guitar and sound better than the record. That’s rare.

I agree with you Jeffrey,as much as we would have loved to see George and Tammy stay together forever,it just wasn't meant to be.They still loved one another when they separated and would get together on stage and sing, but it hit George hard,as Tammy was his true love and he wanted to be with her always. And this caused him to spiral downwards in between performing on stage. But years later thankfully Nancy came into Georges life, and yes literally saved him and was there to get him through those dark times, and give us many more years of George and his amazing voice and all those beautiful heart wrenching songs he gave us.

George Jones really was one of the very finest interpretive singers of 20/21 century popular music, as well as the greatest country music singer of all time. He never ever seemed to sing anything the same way twice, and he was so good that he never seemed to sing a wrong note. He conveyed more soul in one phrase than anyone else could all night long, and the absolute gold standard by which country singers are measured. What a legend...

I had no intention of listening to this entire concert....but I could not stop! I've always loved me some Jones, but this was just such a wonderful performance. Rarely does one sound better live than on their records, but George does. He really seemed to treasure the experience as much as his audience. So glad I stumbled on this. So wonderful!

What’s more impressive is he’s spent 40 years in the spotlight by this concert… and he’s still that into it and feeling his songs.

George Jones was the best there ever was. He sung a song about filling someone's shoes, well no one else can fill his shoes. You don't hear country music like this anymore.

@@MadisonEasleyPuppySparklez - Yes; Ron Gadis, George's bass player. He knew how to sing so that he enhanced George's voice a bit. He knew when to come in and when to back off leaving it to George to hit those key phrases.
