Here's my way too long of a post, because we're talking about uno: I'm always amazed at how every uno player I see on these is eager to ditch their duplicate cards. The ideal strat would be to hang on to those as long as you can. Say you have 3 cards left Y2, Y3, Y3. Its your turn and its yellow. You should absolutely hold on to the duplicates and instead play Y2. Because to everyone else, "you still have two cards, you're not on uno yet." Higher chance that the color stays on yellow for one more go around, and then you can end the game sooner than they expected. But similar things hold true even at higher card amounts. If you had 4 cards left to start your turn, you still look less threatening if you play so as to present yourself with two left instead of 3 left. Moral of the story: Double cards can make your hand size look bigger than it really is. That's a good thing. Hold on to that illusion as long as you can.

For example: 25:07 Chilled is given Tay's 9 cards. Bad deal for him, right? He has the highest amount now? Not actually. He has three sets of doubles. He's actually sitting on a 6 card hand, which is tied for second best. (Tay is looking to be 7, but also has a double, so she's technically at 6 as well.) So while looking like the least threatening player in the game, he's actually the second biggest threat.

I chalk it up to him getting older. He's in his 30s and he's been having brain fog. A year or two ago, his attention span was pretty good. Seems like something happened that made him pay less attention these days... there's no correlation but I kind of blame YuGiOh for it lol.
