I had a really bad case of food poisoning during a visit to Thailand. I had stuff coming out of me at both ends for hours and hours. After I was emptied, my stomach was very jittery and all I was able to get down for almost 4 days was water and maybe a couple of bananas. At that point, I was very hungry and finally had to force myself to some food. I chose a dish that I didn't think would be too spicy. Was I wrong! It was very hot but being starved, I managed to get about 4 tablespoons of rice with the sauce into me. Ten minutes later, I was 100% cured! Hot food really does settle the stomach!

Glad to hear all the benefits of chilis since I'm a chili addict. I didn't grow up on it but came to love it as an adult. My mother always says I'm skinny (I'm 122 lbs at 5'10") because of all the hot food I eat. Who cares? I feel great!

Fact 6 explains why I'm one of the rare people who experiences burn when I pee after eating extremely hot peppers. Also I melt my face off at least one meal a day and I've only been sick twice with a cold since 2009. I'm 52 years old so I joke with people saying that I've already caught everything at my age! The truth may very well be the herbs and spices and hot peppers I eat daily. Just saying.
@AnoNymInvestor Жыл бұрын
I have had a similar experience. I eat a lot of "spicy" food and add my own hot spices. Also lots of garlic, Greek olive oil and butter. Really strong health, despite stress. I was sick twice this year and couldn't do anything. It felt like a bad flu. Had the Corona finally caught up with me? This was the first serious infection in 10 years. First time in January 2023 and then again in April 2023, which is quite unusual for me.

Greeting from the other side of the pond. Found your channel thanks to the Google suggestions algorithms, amazing information. As a chile (Mexican style) adept I loved your channel and this video in particular made me appreciate chiles even more. For reference, I have two eggs sunny side up, three tortillas, a cup of black coffee and a serrano pepper for breakfast almost every day :) Thank you for this information, I wish I could safely purchase seeds from you but I'm afraid customs will reject the package. Can't wait to see the end of your harvest, those chiles look amazing!

Awesome fact filled video Shaun! The boat load of reading available in your resource listing is a complete bonus! I had a general awareness of positive health benefits within the native populations in the southwestern part of the states here. But generally that would be old data now. One curious feature to perhaps keep in mind is the negative health consequences associated with the typical westernized diet. At one time a general observation could have suggested that a diet rich in hot spicy foods seemed to lead to a much healthier system overall. I suspect a mere glance at the growing waistline of many populations would lead to the understanding that good peppers are lacking. Any follow up to these studies or new trials could be very interesting when available. Stay Spicy! -Bob...

Habaneros taste amazing! All of them from yellow to chocolate... Some say they are superhot but that's a myth. I make my own sauces and ferment chilies for up to 3 yrs. This year I decided to add ONE trinidad scorpio to a 1kg mash of habaneros. A bit more evil hot but still tasty. My problem with superhot chilies is the taste. There's verry little taste and a lot of burning sensation. So this year I'm experimenting with superhot sauces that actually taste good. Next year I'll try to crossbreed different superhots with different habaneros...

Mum used to grow cayane peppers when I was very young , other chillies varietys weren't available at the time in the area we lived - not in the northern hemisphere .

Great presentation CC. Ain`t it strange that such a beneficial substance is so hard to eat (heat level) and yet things that are so bad for us taste great (sugar). So If i am not mistaken you could extract the hottest Capsicum, cut to very small pieces or dry and grind to powder then make coated sweets that are small enough to swallow without tasting the chilli ? I bet those would sell in your shop and backed up with your impressive research.
