chilling, thrilling beats of the haunted house

For listening purposes only! This was an accumulation of darker, more horror type beats. These instrumentals were created between 2006-2008. My birthday is a few days before Halloween, so I know it's no coincidence that I have always been drawn to music and spaces that are spooky and unusual. This mix was very raw and grungy and had some parts that came out distorted due to me being distracted during recording, so I used a low pass filter on one or two to salvage them for the project. Some of the beats were some of the first beats I ever recorded when I got out of the military and began learning how to process my samples through the Ensoniq ASR10 all while experimenting with different effects it had. The mix was originally compiled and recorded to a cassette in October of 2022, and this was another reason it came out the way it did. I drew inspiration for this mix from remembering listening to my first Haunted Sounds Cassette Tape back when I was in first grade and a kid in my class let me borrow it for the weekend. My older brother had a big pioneer stereo with big speakers so when he was gone, I played it by myself in my room. I've always found radio shows to be so entertaining even to this day compared to always using our eyes to see. There's something special about listening and seeing with your imagination that makes music so enjoyable in my opinion so that was what I aimed for.
