The commercials....damn....Their jingles and voices take me back, it’s almost jarring how much the memories of that time come flooding. It’s funny how the 70s and early 80s seem so comforting to me now, yet those times definitely felt infinitely more complex when living them in real time...

So much better than today. No 🏳‍🌈 perves shoving there perversion in your face. Not over run with ILLEGAL INVADERS. No out of control criminal DEMONrat scum. WOW how America has fallen in so few years. 20 more years and we will be a bigger $hithole than mexico. SAD EDIT: O, and people knew what a woman was back then too. 😂 No gender confused morons. Kids not being mutilated. Just having a NORMAL life playing outside and riding bikes with out crash helmets.😊

I agree with that assessment. The world was in turmoil then as now and sometimes in our own homes but for better or worse you have different problems as an adult than as a child ✌️

Loved the break-ins with updates to the ending rounds of the Sugar Ray Leonard vs Roberto Duran fight #1. Also enjoyed the commercial by Justin Wilson, the Cajun Cook!

Loved the fight updates too. This must be the June 20 1980 repeat listed in the info. That was the night of the Leonard - Duran fight.

Justin was doing stand-up comedy years before he did the cooking show. Most of the stories he told on the show were from his act. He was a master storyteller and very, very funny.

Back when boxing was taken more seriously. I dont think I remember boxing updates during tv or radio shows since Mike Tyson was champion.

Dream come true to time travel! The book Time & Again by Jack Finney takes a 20th century man back 100 years in old New York. Obviously struck a chord with millions of copies sold.

thanks - this is a good story :) library ad is interesting. loved hearing the “only you can prevent forest fires”. why don’t we still have those? i loved Smokey Bear! whatever happened to the Better Business Bureau? but thank goodness i know how to skip. i really do hate commercials. 🐈🐾🌻

I agree. These commercial breaks didn't cut in on the Mark's created by the producers. Very annoying. Plus, I found this very muffled and hard to hear. There are better OTR channels on YT. I will be sure never to listen to this one again.

@Don Taylor I found a magazine from the late 40s when I was cleaning out my parents attic. There was an article advising new parents to put their babies in the crib on their bellies because "babies don't smother".

@Don Taylor same...I'm 61 and we never used seatbelts or helmets or life jackets. I used to jump horses without a helmet. Parents at my barn make their kids wear helmets just to groom their horses...and we're talking $500 titanium reinforced helmets!

This was a depressingly cruel story that could have been greatly improved with a few tweaks. Upon being shot at, Harry/Hal could have faded away, thwarting the murderer. If the writers HAD to have heartbreaking tragedy written into the story, the young pregnant wife could have been left behind in time.

Probably to maintain the integrity of the original broadcast. The good thing is if you don't like anything about a particular episode or it's recording, you have almost 1400 episodes, from 1974 to 1982, to satisfy.
