i was raised in Nigeria and went to college in America. Stayed for 10 years. I did not enjoy most of my experiences with race especially and it was just a confusing and stressful time in my life. When i returned home, i never looked back.Till this day, i don't look forward to even having a vacation in America. Reading Americnah gave me so much closure and gave me understanding of my time there. It was like Ifemelu went through 80% of what i experienced. I can finally "look" at America again. It was too close to home for me and i'm grateful to Chimamanda for this book.

My first time ever hearing about her and the fact she never knew she was black is when she came to America I'm African American I wish I could have had that experience 😪 to not know color of the human race what a privilege 💔 and a disappointment to find out that your judged on your skin color. I would love to visit Africa 🌍 to have that experience to not be seen as different but; equal I have throughly enjoyed meeting her by way of social media I can see her in ancient times sitting on a throne as a beautiful queen with her wisdom, intelligence, character and integrity she could rule a kingdom and stand toe to toe with any man.

I could listen to Mrs Adichie for days. She is brilliant, combatitive, funny and endlessly engaging. Some of the other videos of her interviews in which she pushes back against inept, ignorant interviewers and co-panelists demonstrate both her vast intellectual abilities alongside her combativeness and refusal to compromise with idiocy. Here, talking with Nicola Sturgeon, she's in repectful, admiring company with an equally brilliant woman. Marvelous discussion.

I first met Chimanda Adichie in 2004 when She came for her book signing at Waterstones Book Shop in Regent Street in London. I was there to get my copy of Purple Hibiscus signed. I remember her has a quietly distinguished writer after signing my book and walking around she said I noticed you are only Nigerian I see here. I said it's probably because they haven't heard of her. But since then I have followed her and read nearly all her books, but most of all is that I am proud that people recognise her as a Writer and also as Feminist. Thanks Chimanda for being a Role model for young Nigerians 🇳🇬 and to those who she has an had impact, in their Lives along the way.
