I have only heard it a few times but it feels as though the song is about Chime progressing as an artist. The way 'jam' was said is similar to 'start', like someone starting out enthusiastically and somewhat naive. It begins with a simple beat and more beats get added progressively. The increasing complexity could represent Chime becoming more experienced. Featherweight also means weak.
