Chimera (1991 miniseries) review

This ITV miniseries (AKA Monkey Boy) is apparently a cult classic. But does it hold up?

How bizarre that I suddenly thought to look for this show 2 days after you posted it! It absolutely terrified me as a kid, a shame that it doesn't hold-up today... maybe we had simpler tastes back then!

Fun fact -- Stalin DID authorize a research program to produce a human-gorilla hybrid with the goal of creating an army of super soldiers with tremendous physical strength and the ability to carry out complex tasks. How far the whole enterprise ever got is not known, but being as there don't appear to be any anthropoids strolling down the streets of...oh...wait...

It seems like they had a cool ten minute short film where everyone dies at the end but it got approved to be turned into a show so they had to bull the rest of the way. Basically the Netflix treatment before Netflix.
