Malaysia have been promoting lion dance for many years when the large part of the world neglected it. Getting Highland world competition is the most reputable event where the toughest team compete.

Fifty years or so, as a girl I learned to lion dance and was permitted to carry the head. Not this super high dance, the "ordinary " one. It is wonderful to see Chinese lion dance being recognised and valued now in Malaysia. It was a very different story before.

The Oversea Chinese in past Malaya and now Malaysia has held up the Southern China culture the lion dance for centuries. The Chinese associations, clans and society have been the great support in finance to keep the lion going. What would be a Chinese New Year without the Lion Dance, fireworks, reunion dinner and ang pow (red packet)?

Big countries like China don't mind sharing their culture with other countries. While indonsia or claimdonesia always claim everything from theirs even Nasi Goreng or Fried Rice also they want to claim.
@iskhrm16883 күн бұрын
Nasi goreng (fried rice) is even Chinese origin, yet they claimed as theirs 😂

@iskhrm1688 Yes very true, fried rice originate from China. There are only 3 ingredients ie. Rice, ginger and egg, the original version.

Well the ancestor of the Chinese people in Malaysia were Mainland Chinese after all, so it's their cultural heritage.
