If Africa remains passive in the exploitation of it's own resources, then they won't get more than 10% of the profits and they will remain cheap labour or spectators. Africa should do what Latin America is doing adopting a united front to push for higher prices and the location of industries based on these products close to the source. Look at what Indonesia is doing with it's nickel deposits. Industries that require nickel are now based in Indonesia rather than elsewhere and the government revenues have increased considerably. What research is Africa conducting to produce products from these resources? Probably very little.
