I love the guy at 1:40. He thinks he can hide behind the little tree and he can't be seen.

He made me wheeze-laugh. Even if I did nothing for the rest of my life, if I had an unintentionally silly moment that was captured on camera and it made another person wheeze-laugh 100 years from now, I would consider it a victory. I started watching the video and thinking solemnly about my Chinese grandparents before promptly losing it at 1:44.

The road recorded in the video, if I’m not mistaken, is the Imperial Way or Emperor’s Way At the high times of monarchy, only the nobles could walk there It became the main road afterwards, that’s why it’s wide
@GoodCitizen-gm1tl2 ай бұрын
of course not, I'm from China, there was no Imperial Way or Emperor's Way in ancient China as the monarch family was living/locked within the Imperial Palace, the Forbbiden City for the entirety of their lifetime, they seldom got the chance to leave the Forbidden City and see commoners. Even if they left the Forbbiden City (which was rare) and toured the commoners' world, they would disguise as commoners in makeups and commoners' clothings due to the danger of assasinations or other risks. There was no such thing as Imperial Way or Emperor's Way in Peking(Beijing) at that time.

Thank you for sharing this treasure. This is really an eye-opener. Having lived in the Far East, I noticed that the voices in the video are from Cantonese people. I believe Beijing people spoke the same language they speak now, which is Mandarin. Also, the music in the background are Cantonese. Am I wrong?

footage feels like it was shot at 60fps, hows that possible???
@BeppaBeo4 жыл бұрын
I don't know too much about it but I believe it's somehow done by duplicating existing frames then playing the footage at a faster rate. So for example if it was recorded on film that took 30 frames of footage a second they would create a copy of each frame so then there would be 60 frames but it would take twice as long to view the footage so they have to increase the rate that the footage is played back so you could fit 60 frames per second.
