Taiwan's Kinmen island is only about 3 miles from mainland China's shore. So if Taiwan comes under the US domination (which is what the US is trying very hard to achieve), this means that the US could build a nuclear-capable military base literally on China's doorstep. Remember the uproar when the Soviet Union wanted to put missiles to Cuba (which was a direct response to the US putting missiles to Turkey). The US has over 800 foreign military bases, now building four more in the Philippines, targeting China. China has only one (in Djibouti, where the US has two), to protect its shipping routes to the Red Sea. So who is the aggressor?
