It was CHEC along with local sub contractors that originally worked on this section. It's all on videos. In addition, CHEC was getting paid to mentor, supervise, coach, and provide knowledge transfer to the local sub contractors. The buck stops with CHEC. That's why they have to pay for the repairs as per the defects liability clause.

I said this fr day one that they should have a weigh station along the Rd,I also said they need a police force,that patrol the highway in each Parrish,and they need to provide them with scales to weigh the trucks.

It's not a surprise tht they are repairing it without a cause. They don't have a choice, it didn't done properly and that is apart of the contract. So they had to.
@chiefydon617517 күн бұрын
It was already in the contract that any repair to the road construction was at the contractors expense not the tax payer! Nuff respect to the PM and the current government! One 🇯🇲

At no cost to taxpayers? Go tell that to the birds. If China Harbour's contract had ended and the company no longer obtaining income from the government, then the explanation that they would redo the work at no expense to taxpayers would perhaps be easy to digest. But with the company continuing to be on the government's payroll, doesn't it then become easy for taxpayers to be billed twice, without the public's lnowkedge, for a job that was initially poorly done?
@nigeljohnson644417 күн бұрын
And if that is not so, don't you think the media and opposition would say we are billed twice?
@howard66517 күн бұрын
Is the Opposition or anyone else been following up on the matter? There's no evidence of this.
@howard66517 күн бұрын
Furthermore, it's not hard for any contractor to use their costing and billing processes to compensate for income shortfall, and for them keep such matters away from public scrutiny.
@nigeljohnson644417 күн бұрын
@howard665 the 2 yr clause is in all of CHEC's contracts. Mandela Highway, Hagley Park Rd, Constant Spring etc. It is also in the Montego Bay project.
