I have close to 40 CHNL packs, use them in my racers and my planes. I have FPV+ packs that are now 2+ years old and still very strong. I also have a bunch of R-Lines, which are dropping like flies after only a season of running them. As you mentioned, the CHNL packs may not give quite the punch. But they just keep going and going, and when you don't have a sponsor, that is really the key. Also the one time I had an issue with a pack CHNL was johnny on the spot to take care of the problem.

@PropagndaX4 жыл бұрын
Hey Bruce, mostly freestyle flyer here. After trying the batteries available in NZ through the FPV suppliers here in NZ. I found the GNB batteries are the best available. I’ve had a few packs for longer than 6months and they fly as if I just got them, they take a beating and I usually double charge on 2c when I’m in a hurry.

I`ve been buying CNHL lipos for almost 3 years now. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I use them on my freestyle quads and large electric balsa planes. I try to treat my batteries well, and with exception of a 850mAh ministar and a 1500mAh of their regular white series that I crashed into oblivion, they all still work, although the older ones I got show their age and sag a bit. But they can still fly, after years of use! My experience with them matches what Bruce says. They are not the lightest or best batteries, but they are affordable and tough!

I bought a CNHL orange battery (the same as yours) a couple of months ago for testing, but weather has been horrible and/or I have not had the time to test it (during those 10 minutes breaks of rain...). Although I do not tend to abuse my batteries (it is a budget...), my experience on the CNHL white edition is quite good. I have had them for 1 year (and a bit) and they perform fine (that was last December...). In comparison the acehe batteries (yellow edition) I have do not seem to hold the charge as well as they use to. I am now so much looking forward getting out of winter! Thanks for the review.

You can definitely tell when Turnigy Graphenes start getting soft after you get used to them, but boy it really does pile on quickly. I really like their cute little 1S packs for my brushed whoops, i have 3 packs that are all roughly 4 years old and they still retain their capacity. I run their Panther 1300 mah 3s ones in my custom Nerf blaster running a pair of Neo Rhino brushed motors. They work flawlessly in that application too, easily handling the extreme amp draw. They have pretty much become my go-to.

@IanF-FPV4 жыл бұрын
CNHL batteries tend to be heavier than their peers from other brands. Typically they are usually larger packs being marketed as slightly smaller to help pad their performance.
@Vousie Жыл бұрын
Do you know that higher discharge capability also increases the weight? A friend of mine who used to work for a battery manufacturer actually said weight is a much better indicator of performance than the c-rating (when you can't/don't want to flight test them) - he said a heavier battery of the same capacity will generally perform like a higher c-rating (less sagging etc) than a lighter one, no matter what the c-rating says.

I run CHNL 4s 1500’s in my 5”ers. They seem great and they were cheap! I also have a few RDQ 1500’s. I like the CNHL better, but only by a little. On my 3”’ers, I primarily run Tattu and RDQ. I actually have a better experience with the Tattu’s than the RDQ/GNB. The Tattus have lasted forever, have taken a major beating and still hold and release the juice. The RDQ packs just seem to have more failures or don’t take damage well. Maybe it’s just the ones I have, but that is my experience. So far the CNHL packs seem to have very consistent output and seem to be pretty rugged. Plus, they’re orange so if you throw a battery... it’s easier to find in grass and the like. Lol. Only time will really tell how well they hold up.

Hey mate, great review! I've been flying CNHL 6 x Black Series 1500mAh 6C and 12 x MiniStar 550mAh 4S for four months each, same experience! I use iSDT D2 and Hota D6 Pro chargers. These batteries hold storage voltage perfectly for months. It's crazy! Hey Bruce, thanks for sharing your battery experience! For me the Turnigy Nanotechs (the dark blue ones) always worked nice. Tattu - as you said, the normal version is quite low - sags very far down even on a full charged batt! The RLine (especially the new V3) are damn good tho. Graphene from Turnigy - not so much a fan of... They definitely NOT hold up to their claims of many cycles! CNHL - I have a few different ones coming from Banggood (all 6S) and I will be testing them accordingly. Fun: do you know DemonRC? Apperantly an Poland based guy with a small company, he states 666C on his Demon batteries (Ok, if you look closer he makes a comma there so it's some honest 66.6C) Greets, Mario

The weight of it got me a bit suspicious, only 400gr, and on opening it up my gut feeling was confirmed, only four of them was shipped. But the most irritating part is that the order info claims that the whole order has been shipped. Customerservice has been notified, let's see what response will be. Just a heads up for the rest of you ordering from CNHL, be sure to use a payment that includes some sort of insurance in case shipped items are lost, missing or inadequate to what you've paid for. that's funny because I actually had to put one of these CHNL battery down a bowl of Salty water because two of the cells decided to go down to 1.9v while the others are still at 3.8v. I always take care of my batteries, I put them in storage mode after a day of flying and I balance the cells on top of that. It's been raining for weeks here so I didn't use the battery for a month and last weekend it was sunny, and unfortunately out of the blue the cells went down. FYI: the battery does not show any sign of puffiness or damage from a potential crash. Another thing: the 6s version is 20g heavier than Tattu batteries and so much chunkier.

I still have an old Phantom 1 and I have mostly used the original batteries but I did buy Turnigy batteries that I use much less. The P1 batteries are still working reasonably well and I usually get 4 minutes flight from them. I am pretty amazed that they are still going years after I first bought them. Because the Turnigy batteries have had much less use I am not sure if that makes them worth hanging on to or not. Very little puffing going on if at all and cells sitting at about 3.8 for some, 3.6 for others. The original Phantom batteries sit around 3.8. I should add that the readings are storage readings after probably months of not being used.

Not good when your multi-rotor just drops from the sky. I have tried those Graphene batteries before, i had a 4s 10.000mah - it went puffy after about 20 charges - that was despite the extra thick shrink wrap they put on them to try and hide the puffiness!

Hello, first and fore most I love your videos. One thing I wanted to say about thouse turnegy "GRAPHINE" lipo batteries, though they are goood batteries, they are NOT real "graphine" batteries. What I mean is that their internal chemical "working" component have 0 (zero) graphine reacting with any chemicals. Which in turn does not improve any performance in the battery it self. At the moment Graphine is very difficult and expensive to produce. When lipo battery company say their batteries are "graphine" it means the outer component (the outer protective shell of the battery) contains a small amount of graphine. (Non are being used chemically to react with the internal working of the batteries). With that they can "legally" promote their batteries as "graphine batteries". The same tactic is used on food products. Some food says that it's GMO free but in reality the food it self is NOT 100% GMO FREE. Only a part of the food is. But "legally" they can promote the food as GMO FREE!! Ex: a can of mix OF white and brown beans , they will say it's GMO free. Although the white beans are NOTt GMO FREE and the brown beans are, they can promote the whole product as a "gmo free product" . Since that's the case then they can charge a premium for their product bc its "GMO" FREE OR AS with batteries " graphine" lipo.
@edwindeleon4 жыл бұрын
Also I wanted to add at the moment of this post there are 0 (ZERO) LIPO real "graphine" barriers that are being sold to regular consumers. Maybe to the military or other companies that pay $$$$$$ for them.

I have loads of the 1300 65-130C Granphine 4S. 5200 12C 4S Multistar. 2200 3S 25C Zippy Compacts. Some Nanotechs, and a smattering of other stuff, but no Tattu. My recent purchase was HK 2200 3S 25C Blue Batts, simply because they were in stock & cheap, £8.50 each, plus I got 2x3300 4S Zippy Compact 4S 60C for my Vampire EDF.

I have some of the black ones..and they are just great. Internal resistance is the same for all cells - 005. I don't think that I have better batteries, tried some hobbyking stuff and tattus, I am not a big expert at all :D Greetings from Bulgaria! :))

Gotta know joe hobbies here... Goodday my brother. I also was reluctant to buy these because of the name I refused to try them. I'm from that generation that thought china products are all cheap. But all my buddies said try em. I bought 10 3 s 2200mah and passed them out asking my customers to try them and keep track of fights and charges. We have 100 plus on a few still kickin.. and 1/2 to a 1/4 off hobbyshop retail.. I thank they are fine batteries I fly Power HD servos too.. you gotta save where ya can cherrs

None of my CHNL batteries are puffy, all of my tattu ones are and they are newer than the CNHLs.

I use the CNHL black series 1500. Better than the original green 120c.
