Some of those Chinese models remind me of a Bentley or modern Caddy. China is developing, innovating and manufacturing their own domestic EV industry while Canada is funding an unaccountable domestic covert police apparatus. They are not, all the Chinese EV's tested in Europe (because they are for sale now) are NOT the most advanced. They use a LOT of electricity per kilometer. They are not efficient and their software is really bad. This is from actual tests in Europe. We can actually buy: BYD, NIO, Xpeng, Zeekr. But sales are very very bad here. They are mostly not cheaper than European and American EV's. And certainly not better.

@@HermanWillems The only reason Chinese cars are not available to Americans is because of unfair trading practices by the US government. If they can't compete fairly they impose import tariffs. Did the same against Japanese cars in the 80s. Biggest selling car in most of Europe is Tesla which is made in China until the German factory ramps up production. All Teslas sold in Asia/Oceania are made in China.

@@HermanWillems There is a micro EV by Wuling which has massively outsold Tesla in China in numerical terms, but it’s a tenth of the price of a Tesla, there are others that outsell Tesla in financial terms. I think Nio are more popular in big cities because of the battery swapping facilities. BYD have a similar structure as Tesla in that they make their own batteries as well. It’s a much more dynamic market than elsewhere.

I've been saying this for the last 4 years since the beginning of the attack on semiconductors, huawei and China itself. Even if China doesn't have the newest semiconductors or the leading flagship snapdragon in their phones, they still have new exciting products to buy. It's also the reason why smartphones are getting more expensive while not selling as many because the happy medium has changed dramatically. These cars are exciting, beautiful, elegant while being an exceptional product, who cares if it ain't the snapdragon 999 plus pro supermax. They are competitively priced while being of exceptional value.

I have been interested in auto shows for around 20 years. This one is by far the most futuristic and cool looking. It's a shame western media outlets do not pay much attention to the SAS as the others. If the Chinese keep this level of technological progress up, they'll dwarf the Japanese, American and European car manufacturers. Some of the Chinese manufacturers hired former BMW, Audi et al designers to work for them; one of the reasons these vehicles have such good designs. Like the North American invasion of quality Japanese ICE vehicles, eventually, the work around for these companies, to avoid tariffs, was to open factories over here rather than import a finished product. Chinese EVs are coming in very strong into Malaysia. With Geely already owning a controlling stake in Malaysia's 1st car company, Proton, we can also expect Geely EVs to come into Malaysia. Right now the EV models are mainly from Ora (GWM) & BYD.

Geely on papers only have 49,90% shareholding in Proton. But we all know who is the big boss behind Proton. Geely just need to walk the fine line not to upset the ultra nationalism. Malaysia dont have the infra on charging stations. Buying EV now is the pain in the a**. Beside with petrol cost RM2.02/litre, EV is a hard sell for commoners in Malaysia. you will find charging Ev is more expensive than ICE vehicle.

Unless you're commuting to work ONE WAY 100 miles (with no electricity at your job to recharge your car for your entire work day) it's a safe bet that internal combustion is not going to be around much longer. As long as you have power at home, you won't need charging stations. For now, though, cross country excursions are for traditionally powered cars.

Longer term EV recharging along the route will end the need for ICE vehicles. Though transportation of cars by rail is another option. I have been looking at mini EV’s because I don’t need a car that often and being able to charge at home would solve the problems for many people.

Nah, in my country (Netherlands) I can NOW yes NOW. Buy MG(Saic), BYD, NIO, Zeekr, Xpeng. But.... nobody buys them. The sales numbers(Cars put on license plate) are extremely low. Nobody buys them. Nothing to do with "nation security". Chinese people nowdays listen to Xi and make everything political. Sounds like its not going well in China and Xi wants not to take the blame himself and therefore is going to blame "the west". Pathetic. Chinese people should stand up against their dictator.

Really interesting video and thanks for visiting the show and taking us round. If I was to buy a car in China, I think I'd go for the £6500 basic one, as I don't have many years driving ahead of me and my wife passed her test in China a few years ago and hasn't driven since, so I say to her the roads are dangerous enough already for her to start driving. I'd definitely buy a Chinese car, although I'd like to know a bit more about the specs-price, mileage, how long thebatteries last, maintenance etc.

28:02 was a Nio battery swap station. If you can’t or don’t want to wait for charging; you can swap batteries in less then 5 minutes. New generation swap stations are aiming for less then 3 minutes.

It’s probably because of the after market support that Chinese manufacturers seem to excel at. I have heard of stories of Russian customers having solutions within days of a request. To be honest I would prefer a Chinese mini car over a European car.

I heard that the Chinese has an issue with the BMW a few days ago. The BMW Mini booth representatives were caught on CCTV discriminating the Chinese over free ice-cream. They said no to the Chinese while shortly later giving out to foreigners a few times. The cheek of them to forget that they were in fact in the host country trying to sell their products to them.

I like the NEO car. 1. Each time the swap battery will be fully checked. Prevention battery catching fire indeed. 2. NEO car parts can be upgraded to the latest design like new. Save money. 3. NEO HOUSE FACILITY. 4. It is cheaper to install swap station anywhere instead gas station . Beside the changing time only take a few minutes thru automation. 5. It can adapt bigger kw. for long distance journey . Best part you just rent it , not buy! Unfortunately: The price is not cheap. The design can improve further. Availability swap stations . 👍👌
