China: Mao's Legacy Left Radical Early Game Guide

Quick guide to the CML early game. We end up with a China with every Asian country in its alliances (other than the Philippines and Mongolia, but those can be gotten later), 4.3 income, 41 world influence, econ and military alliances founded in 1980.
Reformist/conservative/liberal are easier than leftrad so the early parts of this guide should be a good resource for those runs as well.

Note: If Zhao Ziyang is dying/getting purged early in your games, support him once or twice, it won’t make a difference resource wise in the long run and it should let him survive for as long as you need him (which is to have ~80 dip rep when you hit industry 70/80)

OH EM GEE! That actually helps a lot, somehow, despite having done several playthroughs of this game, I had no idea that supporting the politicians made them less likely to die. I always had to either save scum or trudge through without my dear pet liberal.

Your strategy is a lot different from mine. Cool to see some alternative ideas. It's been ages since I've played, but I could have sworn the unity/popularity numbers declined a lot faster at the start of the game than they appear to be in yours. You also appear to have more income at the start than I remember. What difficulty are you playing on?

This is on normal. For the unity and popularity, switching around the ministers at the start helps a *lot* (harsh and hard men bring it down quite a bit). For the income, I couldn't say without seeing your strategy.

I realized it’s not that hard after several days failure (mostly low people support), keep an eye on politics selection and we all can achieve the Maoism stronghold with different strategies
