Enjoyed the revisit of these 1990 films. Love Rothrock. Actually thought these were more fun than I thought they would be. I couldn’t remember them.

I’m surprised none of the Hong Kong film companies didn’t offer Keith Cook a film contract. I agree with you He is by far the most impressive in the film.

It is a shame he didn't get more work. Could you imagine a Keith Cooke vs Donnie Yen fight back then? Or how about now guys? Both still in incredible shape.

There are a couple of facts about this movie that might surprise you. 1) A british reporter compared Cynthia Rothrock and Richard Norton to being the *"Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire of martial arts"* 2) During the movie there is a song called "Distant Storm". The actual singer of that song is "Tori Amos". Tori didn't want to be credited under her real name, so that why she went under the name of a fake band called "Tess Makes Good".

Thank you Leon & Shaz. I can't wait to receive the 4K release from Eureka on pre-order. I was too young to watch them at the time but recall the VHS covers in the video store my dad used to frequent. The only issue with the first movie I had was the generic cardboard cutout villain - other than that I thought the movie was well crafted and paced with some great set pieces. As you mention Keith Cooke possessed some great ability and it's a shame we didn't see him in much else. I look forward to the interviews with this release!

You should only get the films you like and make your collection a good representation of your individual taste. I'll be honest, I've been quite surprised by the response to this one. It obviously has a strong nostalgic pull for me, but Shaz watching it for the 1st time, really enjoyed it 😉

To be honest I will skip the Eureka 4K release and opt for the Vineger Syndrome 4K 4 disc release as the US release has decided to put China O' Brien 1 and 2 on separate UHD66 4K discs due to concerns over the low bitrate and image quality rather than cramming them onto a single UHD100 disc.

No worries. We didn't notice any quality issues. But we are lucky in this day and age to have many options available to us. Hopefully one of my ACC brethren will cover the VS release! 😉

Nothing personal against Rothrock and she's a skilled martial artist for certain but those CO films are terrible. Rothrock has always been at her best in H.K. cinema as the choreographers there know how to bring out the best in her. Shanghai Express, Righting Wrongs, Lady Reporter and Yes, Madam! all represent top tier Rothrock for me.👍

We prefer her HK output, too. On this revisit though, we both got a lot out of it. That being said, it's not for everyone. Thanks for watching 😉

I feel the same about all those abysmal American martial arts actioners which went DTV in the late '80s and early '90s. Awful films.

@@HongKongandBeyond Dont get me wrong..she had talent but as for being a star....sadly not ..i think her stories were poor ..but thats down to the writers...great martial artist though.❤️
