We hear about the C919 and think that's the total sum of the Chinese aircraft industry. Now we hear about the C909 and development of the C929. This aircraft though is completely separate from the Comac products. Looks good.

Dalian is one of the most famous city in northeast China, built with European urban streets, and once known as the northern Hong Kong. Nowadays Dalian and northeastern cities are not as well known as Shanghai Shenzhen and some southern cities cuz china's new industries are mainly in south now. If have half day or one day in dalian, Xinghai s quare and Zhongshan square are good choices

Thank you for the kind information. I think there‘s also a new Airport under construction? I think I saw something on the map.
@bokstreetchoy470514 күн бұрын
@@forgotmypassport Yes, the aging airport was the most visited airport in Northeast China for a long time. However, due to its location so close to the city center, there is no room for expansion. This necessitated the construction of a new airport. Dalian, surrounded by the sea on three sides and with many mountains, faced significant geographical constraints. As a result, the decision was made to build the largest man-made island airport in the world. It is currently under construction and is expected to open in 2028.

@@forgotmypassport Yes. Dalian Jinzhouwan airport is under construction, build on reclaimed land. Old airort will close when jinzhouwan airport opens

Thanks at least we have you to verify AN24, AN26, MA60 and MA600 differences as you actually rode in them. Thanks for sharing.

An-26 unfortunately not (yet).

What is differemce between MA60, 600 compare to ATR72...My only experience is Firefly ATR72 from Subang to Penang....Not bad I wish the plane have a bigger cabin for less claustraphonic experuence.

This is an unpopular fact: MA-60 has a better safety record than the ATR series, only bombardier Q-400 has better safety record.

@Edz202315 күн бұрын
So it's basically an Antonov-24 with western engines, propellers, avionics and a new anti-ice system. Its notoriously unreliable landing gear system has resulted in multiple accidents. They have an upgraded MA600 but it did not go into mass production. A somewhat clean sheet modern design called MA700 has been manufactured and it is fly-by-wire and has an ATR-72 kind of configuration. However MA700 did not take to the sky due to US/Canada banning the engine supply
@forgotmypassport15 күн бұрын
When I was researching the MA60, I found conflicting articles that it is based on the An-24, but then also based on the An-26. I wonder if these two are similar enough that it can be considered the Y-7 (hence MA60) is based on „both“? Regarding the MA600 I actually managed to fly on it as well (video coming soon), and the difference was rather significant.

Joy and happiness, how can you go wrong with an airline called Joy Air.
@forgotmypassport10 күн бұрын
It‘s a cool name. There‘s another Airline in China branded as OK Air:)
@changsu1959 күн бұрын
Ha, welcome to my town, that new terminal at ZSYT is actually brand new for just a few months old. As for that Joy air gig, I simply won't recommend them to anyone at all. As that company has a screwed safety culture, bar average maintenance, been a shitty employer (barely paying their staff for example, and more) for years, and the worst management team in the entire country (used to work for some of them overseas, bunch of absolutely shockers). So overall, that's a long over due mandatory shut down. And I seriously wonder what is CAAC thinking to still keep them going considering the news of their flight crews driving for ubereats has been all over the place.
@forgotmypassport8 күн бұрын
Thank you for the welcome. But wow, I‘ve now read a number of comments about Joy Air‘s current desolate state. Seems I was lucky to have flown with them, it doesn‘t sound they‘ll be around much longer.

Perhaps during the pandemic period, airlines were the most affected. Many airlines went kaput. At least this airline managed to survive. Many crew members, including pilots, were retrenched.

This guy does not know much about airplane. No one wants the window seat parallel to the propellers, besides the deafening noise, a small broken piece could cut you in half !

@ sorry for commenting on your seat selection, if a propeller airplane known to have a weak gear system and crippled upon landing, the moment the blades hit the runway the fragments are flying out at a killer speed by centrifugle force. Safer not to be on its way.
