They told me somes scenes were cut from the movie For example the other "brother" of Xiao Hubei fought against the japanese with katanas in the night And also that Duan Wu scream something to his dying uncle

@@spitthunder0075 yeah some scenes were 100% cut. Like it's unknown what happens to the soldiers (made up of mostly the main characters) after they charge the Japanese at night.

+chlai74 Agreed, the western world NEEDS to know more about this conflict to give proper context to tensions between these two old civilizations today. Also, I would LOVE to play through the siege of Shanghai in a WW2 video game instead of landing at Normandy for the umpteenth time.

jack han China was the decisive player for the allies in Asia.If China falls then the influence of asia is at risk
@banditmc12
@banditmc12 4 жыл бұрын
Bit late but I’ll say this. If one influence lost in the defence the butterfly effect would be large. Without hard Chinese resistance, the us would not have the chances they had in the pacific, and the course of the war would be altered, as increased us troops in the pacific would have meant less in Europe.

You know there's a lot of WW2 films in China but it's pretty uncommon to see one glorifying the actions of nationalist soldiers. Maybe this is a step towards healing.

The Chinese made the movie, mainlanders, see it for what you will, but I see it as the mainland being able to recognise Chinese heroes, not kmt, not ccp, Chinese.

I hope you are able to see my comment after so many years. But I wanted to let you know that a brand new movie about this story has just released in theaters, called "The Eight Hundred". I just came back from the movie tonight and was totally blown away!! It's such an incredible story, I had to come home and immediately start researching everything about it. So I found this video and a lot more, as well as your comment. I hope you get the chance to see the movie!

@@BiggCMan yeah it's a stunning movie. The movie pb mentioned though, was made quite literally a few months after the actual event (1937) so it is also very interesting to see.

British Commanders and soldiers admired the Chinese for holding as long as they can because they knew the Chinese were out of date and not advance but able to hold against an advance enemy.A British soldier asked a Chinese soldier how many soldiers do you got then the translator asked.The Chinese soldier said 800 when really they have about 430 troops
