We're in the US and we had a racing pigeon that stopped and landed on our roof. He stayed for a day and the kids loved him. He was different than other pigeons, he seemed so friendly and would let us get very close to him.

Well, I don't know if this racing game is indeed for money laundering. But as a Chinese, I'm really offended by the arrogance of this reporter. He's so ungrateful toward the hospitality of the host. As those people said in the video, it's more about the honor, not about some sneaky scheme or something. Why can't you just look at the bright side of everything. I really like your video about Africa, but from this video, I can see that you have some attitudes against Chinese people. Why is that?

Here in FLanders homing pigeon races are incredibly popular, especially with older people. My granddad used to keep pigeons and do races with them. We always looked forward to one of them doing bad actually because they would end up in the cooking pot and actually they make quite a tasty dish.

Only Vice could make pigeon racing interesting. My dad used to date an american pigeon racer when I was a kid, and she had to bribe me with jelly bellys to get me to learn about it. Jelly Bellys were legit currency in 1994.

One of Vice's strengths is that they openly allow personality to slice through their journalism. It's no secret. It's what they do. Personally, I enjoy how Vice acknowledges how goofy, alien, and tacky their subjects seem with some lighthearted teasing, rather than pretending we all perfectly understand, respect, and accept the nuances of other cultures. Obviously the goal is to reach understanding and acceptance, but let's all be honest as we take our first steps in that direction.

Releasing such a large number of birds from one trailer would be exposing your prized bird to injury and loss, they should limit the number per carrier or have extra trailers for transport and release.

I thought the homing ability of pigeons, like many, MANY birds, was due to their ability to "read" the earth's electromagnetic field with specialized nerves in their beaks. A sort of natural compass. I know I've read this before about numerous animals, but yes, I could be way off..

In the time of "CORONAVIRUS WORLD WAR - 3" in 2020 when your own life is at the hands of a invisible pandemic it's cinema and documentaries that breaks all barriers and provides solace and entertainment in the confines of a @t a lifelong sports enthusiast and a silver jubilee pathological gambler on horse racing decided to understand the sport of pigeon racing.Picked the right documentary and found this video extremely educating to a novice from Mumbai in India where pigeon racing does exist in a few city's. I myself had a pair of wild rock pigeons always nesting in the gallery of our house for almost 2 decades. When the original pair died another or could be its progeny took over the nesting site. This went on until we got our house and gallery renovated. Surprised to know that China is the country that now monopolizes "Pigeon Racing" purchasing the costliest racing "Armando " for 1.4 million U.S dollars. Thought only race horse cost that amount of money. Surprised that the Royal Family of England is also actively involved in "Pigeon Racing" as i was under the impression they only raced @t of my favourite boxer's Mike.Tyson is a pigeon fancier and If "PIGEON RACING" existed in Mumbai i would definitely have been a active player in this bird sport. Ahoy !

what a shocker that the guy who runs the race was the winner. BULL-shit! I think he had that pigeon in his underwear the whole time and then just threw it to the finish line. I personally enjoyed the documentors cavalier attitude. you could tell he was somewhat disgusted in the whole idea of what the pigeon racing stood for. Great doc! looking forward to the next.

Hoping to try my hand at raising..and eventually racing pigeons. We are picking them up tonight!! These have never flown anywhere. i gotta lot of learning to do about them. i heard, i should only fly the youngest of them. The older ones may not return, or they might go back to where they came from..which is only mile from our home.Anyways, this is a very interesting hobby. "Birdman", he raised his birds in prison..while doing time there he came up with a cure for a Pigeon disease!
